Amanda Mertz announces Miss Coors Light Stops in 2016
2015’s Miss Coors Light Amanda Mertz announced Monday night via her Facebook page that the Miss Coors Light program will be not exist next season:
“I’m sure many of you have heard about the recent SAB MillerCoors merger, I had prayed that things would remotely stay the same within the company. In fact, we already had a 2016 contract drawn up, a photoshoot for next season POS & my fire suit just arrived.
There’s no easy way to say this & I can’t tell you how saddened I am to have to write this type of post but I feel like I owe everyone an answer when asked if I will be returning next year as Miss Coors Light. In fact, that was the 2016 plan. I am sad to announce that Coors Light is going through a rebranding/budget cut phase & they had to make a last second decision, there will no longer be a Miss Coors Light program within the sport of NASCAR.
My heart is broken for the people who have been behind this program & put so much effort each & every weekend into making it such a respectable role within the sport. This year has been more than a dream come true, from meeting some of my best friends, getting to interview this level of talent, traveling around the U.S, to watching Jeff Gordon take his last ride in NASCAR. I’ll have these memories to cherish for the rest of my life.
