Rat Rods by Circle Sport – Best NASCAR Paint Scheme of 2016?

Rat Rods by Circle Sport Rustic NASCAR Racecar Wrap – Best NASCAR Paint Scheme of 2016?

If it’s not the best NASCAR paint scheme of 2016, it’s certainly the most creative. Not just the paint scheme itself either, the whole idea behind the ‘Rat Rods by Circle Sport’ campaign. View more photos of the rustic NASCAR Racecar wrap posted below.

The best part: There is no ‘Rat Rods by Circle Sport’. It doesn’t exist.

Leavine Family Racing and driver Michael McDowell didn’t have a primary sponsor for New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Rather than run a blank car, management decided to let the creative department run with it and have fun with the design.

They ran with it! Ran the full distance and backflipped the hurdle at the end. The design team not only went all out on the racecar wrap but they created an entirely fictitious primary sponsor as well.

The team didn’t talk much about the new sponsor during the New Hampshire Motor Speedway weekend. They let you discover more on your own, on a place they could explain in detail. On their own website.

There is a page of the Circle Sport – Leavine Family Racing website which explains what the whole ‘Rat Rods by Circle Sport’ rusted NASCAR racecar wrap campaign was about. Running a search for that lands you on that page of the team website.

That’s where they hit you with the surprise. They do not build rat rods for the road.

Huh?

The team explains, “We don’t build Rat Rods for the road. We build rat rods for your corporate brand”.

Fantastically executed, it was all just a metaphor and a bit of an easter egg! It was a very creative way to bring potential sponsors to the unsponsored NASCAR team website. It was genius, the whole thing!

Rat Rods are eye catching, the NASCAR racecar itself was certainly extremely eye catching. The whole message behind the campaign was that the team could create an ‘eye catching’ campaign, much like this fictitious one. Only they could do it for your actual brand.

They fully explained what they could do for their brand in a very unique and original way. It was all explained, simply by bringing potential sponsors to their own NASCAR team website with the ‘Rat Rods by Circle Sport’ campaign. This was far more effective than running the typical all white car, which basically says the same thing “we need a sponsor”.

PJ Brassard designed and executed this entire project with RCR Graphics Center Powered by Roland. A+ to the entire team. They certainly get our vote for the best NASCAR paint scheme of 2016.
