The first B-Main of the night was won by Hudson O’Neal. He was followed by Zachary McMillan, Dennis Erb Jr and Ricky Thornton Jr. Tyler Erb and Terry Phillips missed the cut.
The 2nd B-Main of the night was won by Jared Landers. Trailed by Steve Francis, Kyle Beard and Hunter Rasdon. Gavin Landers was sent home. Boom Briggs entered the feature on a provisional.
Green Flag. Immediately, Tim McCreadie went to the high side. The rest of the field was in the fight for the bottom. Jimmy Owens and Josh Richards both started inside the top 5, the started moving backwards as soon as the green dropped.
Darrell Lanigan was there to capitalize on their misfortunes. He quickly moved up to 2nd. However, he had nothing for Tim McCreadie.
Around lap 30, the front runners started moving to the middle of the racetrack. Outside the top 5, everyone else was still glued to the inside wall.
Scott Bloomquist was now running 3rd. On restarts he had something for Darrell Lanigan. However, as the run went on Darrell Lanigan was slightly better.
It wouldn’t matter. No drive of the #14 car. He pulls off the racetrack while running in the runner up position. The Clint Bowyer Racing team has been hit with more bad luck. This time, a broken rear end.
Lap 50, most of the field was now fighting for the middle of the racetrack. Mostly single file, no room to pass. A handful muscled their way by, but it took aggression to pull it up.
A new challenger for 2nd arrived. Gregg Satterlee was now challenging Bloomquist. He nearly got him on the restart.
By lap 75, the middle was losing lap time. The track has changed 2-3 times in this race. The field has now started moving back to the bottom.
Bloomquist was now hanging with Tim McCreadie. As they raced through lapped traffic, Bloomquist was there. Within 2-3 cars lengths. McCreadie wasn’t pulling away. However, Bloomquist would come up just short.
McCreadie wins the Bad Boy 98 at Batesville Motor Speedway. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point leader, Scott Bloomquist runs 2nd. Bloomquist will stretch out his championship lead.
Tim McCreadie climbs from his winner #39 machine, “I want to thank the fans for coming out tonight. I hope we put on a good show for them. It’s not the Topless 100, but it feels just as good to win this race.”
He talked about the Bad Boy 98, “I am a little speed sensitive. The car felt good in clean air. I just didn’t know where to be. I am glad I had Phillip [Snellen], my crew chief down there helping me out by giving me signals. I got lost out there a little bit just running the top. Then I went back to the middle.”
Shannon Babb joined the program this weekend, he finished 3rd. Josh Richards made up ground at the end of the race, he finished 4th. Don O’Neal completed the top five.
Billy Moyer Sr pulled off. Tire issues. Billy Moyer Jr finished 8th. Dennis Erb Jr started at the tail after his B-Main result. He drove through the field to finish 9th.
