Kasey Kahne, Great Clips Sponsor Parting Ways

Kasey Kahne will lose the Great Clips as a sponsor in 2018

Kasey Kahne’s last Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win came at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Nearly 3 years ago, in August 2014.

At once time, Kasey Kahne picked up 6 wins in a single season. That was back in 2006, his third year on the top step of stock car racing. The now 37-year-old is currently on a streak of 95 races without a win. His average finish is 17.30.

In October 2016, it was announced that Farmers Insurance would not be renewing it’s sponsorship with Kasey Kahne or Hendrick Motorsports.

Now, things have gotten a bit worse for Kasey Kahne. At the end of 2017, he will be losing two major sponsors. Farmers Insurance and now Great Clips will collectively go separate directions in 2018.

Great Clips president Steve Hockett issued a brief statement to ESPN:

“We have enjoyed our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports over the last five years. From top to bottom, Hendrick Motorsports is a first-class organization, and through our relationship, Kasey and the entire team have been excellent ambassadors of our brand.

He continued, “With a shift in our marketing strategies, our partnership will come to an end at the conclusion of 2017.”

Recent years have been a struggle. Kasey Kahne has failed to make the NASCAR Playoff’s in the previous two NASCAR Seasons.

Kasey Kahne has collected 17 wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. He’s finished inside the top five, 91 times. He’s also collected 172 top ten runs.

The driver of the #5 has a total of 480 races. His NASCAR Cup Series career began back in 2004.
