Daytona NASCAR XFINITY Series race Postponed due to rain

Rain delays XFINITY Series race at Daytona until Saturday at noon ET

Rainy weather has postponed the NASCAR XFINITY Series race until noon ET Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.

Although the threat of inclement weather held off for much of Friday, raindrops began to fall at the 2.5-mile track seven laps into the Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 (NBCSN, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). The red flag came out on Lap 11, and the race officially was postponed after the race had been halted about 90 minutes.

When the 250-mile race is back underway, Blake Koch will be the leader, followed by Ben Kennedy.

Brennan Poole, who started on the pole, will be third.

The event originally scheduled for Friday evening is the 15th of 33 scheduled races for the XFINITY Series this season.
