Daytona International Speedway NASCAR Xfinity Results from July 1, 2017

Tonight, the NASCAR Xfinity Seres kicks off the NASCAR weekend at Daytona International Speedway. 30 laps in stage 1, another 30 in stage 2. The final stage will be 40 laps. A short 100 lap sprint to the Daytona finish line.

Justin Allgaier, Williams Byron and others will start at the tail for unapproved adjustments. It will be fun to watch these Xfinity regulars come from the back.

Green flag. Ben Kennedy and Brennan Poole lead the field to green. 2 by 2 from 1st to 4oth position. Hemric gives a huge push to Poole. A wiggle from the race leader as they head into turn 1, bumpers locked.

Lap 2, lead change. Ben Kennedy carries the highside momentum off turn 2. A big push from Blake Koch put him there. Kennedy slides to the bottom. New lead car in the bottom lane.

Lap 6, Blake Koch clears Ben Kennedy. He slides to the bottom, taking the top spot away. The top 3 cars single fill, two wide behind them.

Lap 8, caution. Rain on the speedway. Lap 12, the cars all pulled onto pit road. Red flagged.

A day later…

It’s race day part 2 in the Sunshine state. However, the name would appear deceiving, its cloudy at Daytona International Speedway.

Blake Koch had all night to think about how he’s going to win this race. He’s the new pole sitter as the race is set to pick up where it left off.

Green Flag. Koch leads the field.

10 laps to go in stage 1, there’s an 8 car break away at the front. 2 by 2 for 9th on back.

3 laps to go, still single file up front. Drivers might be sitting behind ill handling machines. After all, these cars were setup to run a night race.

He’s never won a race and he’s never won a stage. That changes today. Blake Koch drives to the stage 1 win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Daytona.

Stage 1 Results: 1. Blake Koch; 2. Ben Kennedy; 3. Brennan Poole; 4. Daniel Hemric; 5. Elliott Sadler; 6. Matt Tifft; 7. Casey Mears; 8. Jeb Burton; 9. Ty Dillon; 10. Tyler Reddick;

Green Flag on stage 3. Justin Allgaier stayed out, he leads into turn 1.

The bottom line stacks up, bumper to bumper. Ben Kennedy to the lead on the outside.

Brennan Poole is next to the lead. Ty Dillon wants it too. Poole tries to block, too late. Ty Dillon to the lead. Side by side with Poole. Caution. Poole was the leader at the timing loop.

Red flag. More rain.

Hours later…

Green flag on stage 2. Brennan Poole and Ty Dillon make up the front row. Reddick started at the tail, he’s now fighting inside the top 5.

Ben Kennedy pushes his Richard Childress Racing teammate Ty Dillon to the point. Kennedy to the bottom. He wants the lead. RCR side by side for the lead.

Brennon Poole leads a 3rd line on the high side. That line is a battle for 10th. It’s working for Poole, he battles for 2nd with a push from Logano. Meanwhile, Reddick gets shuffled out of line, he falls outside the top 20.

Contact at the front! Joey Logano has surfaced in this race. He made a move on Ty Dillon for 2nd. A block and a bit of contact between the drivers. Logano falls in behind Dillon.

Brennan Poole to the lead! Top 4 are single file.

Lap 50, Trouble! Blake Koch, Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer and more are involved. Custer narrowly escaped with minimal damage if any. Custer lost it while fighting just outside the top 10.

Pit road is open. Elliott Sadler, Brennan Poole, Justin Allgaier and 11 more stayed out.

Green, 3 lap shootout. Elliot Sadler leads the field into turn 1. He throws a block on Poole, maintains the lead.

Brandon Jones is inside Poole for 2nd. He switches lanes, drives to the outside of Sadler. New leader.

Sadler picks up help from his teammate. Byron pushes Sadler back to the lead. Elliot Sadler wins stage 2 in the NXS race at Daytona!

Stage 2 Results: 1. Elliott Sadler; 2. William Byron; 3. Dakoda Armstrong; 4. Ty Dillon; 5. Tyler Reddick; 6. Michael Annett; 7. Brennan Poole; 8. Brandon Jones; 9. Ben Kennedy; 10. Spencer Gallagher;

Green flag on the final stage at Daytona. Just 34 laps remain in the 24 hour Xfinity race.

William Byron tops NASCAR Daytona Xfinity results - Wins Firecracker 250

William Byron has help from another teammate. He switches lanes, new leader. Byron begins blocking both lanes. He’s at the front by himself.

Spencer Gallagher gets shuffled out of line. The front 8 fall single file.

It was the calm before the storm. Joey Logano has locked bumpers with Ty Dillon.  He pushes Ty Dillon to the lead.

Jeremy Clements gets turned in the tri-oval. Caution. Just 15 to go.

10 lap shootout. Green flag, Ty Dillon leads the field into turn 1. Joey Logano leads the outside lane. Ty Dillon slides across the nose of Logano. These two link back up.

Ty Dillon drops to the bottom. Logano has help from Poole. He pushes Logano to the point. Logano slides across the nose of Dillon. Logano leads the field on the inside line.

7th Caution. Trouble at the front! Brennan Poole got out of line. He slid across the nose of Ty Dillon. William Byron gave a bump draft to Poole in the tri-oval, that got him out of shape.

4 laps to go. Logano leads, Byron 2nd. Green. Sadler pushes Logano into turn 1. Byron leads the outside charge with help from Ryan Reed.

Logano blocks the top. Byron to the bottom, Logano blocks. Back to the top, Logano blocks.

Erik Jones is there. Logano gets turned! No caution. He saves it but he’s out!

Ryan Reed leads. William Byron gets a push from Elliott Sadler. New leader, William Byron.

Big crash! Brandon Jones got turned in turn 3. He collected the whole field. Junkyard on the infield grass. Red flag.

William Byron, Erik Jones and Elliott Sadler are the survivors at the front. G-W-C, Erik Jones doesn’t get moving on the outside. Elliott Sadler pushes William Byron to the front. Elliott Sadler looks to the outside.

They are wrecking behind them. Caution flag is out. The leader has crossed the overtime line. This race is over.

William Byron wins the 24 hour Xfinity race at Daytona. He will take home the Firecracker 250 trophy from Daytona International Speedway.
