At the end the 2017 season, both the Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel contracts were up for renewal or departure.

Ferrari announces 2018 driver, “Ferrari N.V. announces that Scuderia Ferrari has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen. The Finnish driver will therefore race for the Maranello team in the 2018 Formula One World Championship.”

Ferrari boss Sergio Marchionne, “I think I have been public on the Sebastian issue, if he wants to stay he is more than welcome to stay. And in the case of Kimi, we are pretty well sure…we know he wants to stay. Hopefully we will bring them on soon.”

“It’s true that I haven’t got a contract yet,” Vettel told Autosport, “but I think the primary objective at the moment is not worrying about papers but making sure we get good results.”

“As I’ve said, I’m not in a rush, I don’t think (Ferrari) is in a rush, and as far as I understand, I think I have a good contact with the team and they would tell me otherwise,” Vettel said. “So as I’ve said there’s no problem — nothing wrong.”

Sebastian Vettel has been in F1 since 2007. In that time he’s collected 46 wins. 7 of those wins have come in a Ferrari.
