Joe Gibbs Racing confirmed that the Subway cancelation stems from a pre-race segment in July. Daniel Suarez was handing out Dunkin Donuts in said TV segment.

Subway has taken issue with the described skit. They have elected to terminate their deal with Daniel Suarez and Joe Gibbs Racing.

Subway had a 4 race deal with Daniel Suarez. So far, Subway has been seen on the machine in 3 races. A single race remained.

Joe Gibbs Racing received a letter from Subway declaring the early termination of the NASCAR sponsorship. It was delivered ahead of the Darlington Raceway weekend.

Dunkin Donuts is a competing restaurant to Subway.

“That’s part of racing,” Suarez stated before has was aware of the reason for termination. “Sponsorship comes and sponsorship leaves. There’s nothing we can do about it. I don’t really know the reasons, so there’s not a lot I can add to it.”
