Dale Earnhardt Jr has an epiphany last week. As Chase Elliott caught an L1 penalty, and the race winner went across LIS with a torn racecar.

How did the winner have a torn racecar? Burnouts. For 3 straight months, the NASCAR winner has burned rubber until the tires blow. In pure celebration? Or is there something more to it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr burnout comments
“We’ve been doing burnout’s for 30 years,” Dale Earnhardt Jr states from the press room at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
“In the Gen 6 car, once everybody figured out how to trick the underbody and things like that. Everybody blows the tires out.”
“It’s hard for me to see the logic in suspending a crew chief, car chief for some tape flappin’ on the spoiler. When the winner drives into victory lane with the car tore all to hell.”

“I don’t see how that doesn’t come across anybody’s conscious or common sense. It doesn’t make any sense to me and it never has. I’ve been kinda waiting, all this time for NASCAR to say, ‘Hey look, we’d rather you guys not blow the tires out.’ ”

“You can do burnouts, without blowing the tires out. That happened for years. But with the Gen 6 car, maybe it started with the COT. But I don’t remember it much with the COT. I mean, can anybody tell me who was the last guy that didn’t blow his tires out?”
Dale Earnhardt Jr came prepared with his own answer… “The first Pocono race” That race, back in June 11th was won by Ryan Blaney. It was his first career win.
“Well they blow them out at the end of every race, this chase/playoff’s? I mean, is that just the new norm?”
“It didn’t really bother me until I thought about it. I’m like, ‘The #24 is gunna get suspended for this tape mess. The winner of the race is riddin’ to victory lane with the right rear of the car town all to hell.’ You can’t even tech it.”
“I love Martin. It ain’t about Martin. Every guy out there has done it. I don’t know it will be a very popular opinion about it. But, that’s how I feel. I just feel like they should step up, they’re the governing body. It’s obvious, it’s done intentionally.”
You cannot tech the racecar. They have to jack it up, put tires on it.

Imagine what the hell’s going on with that car, that gets to jack it up and put tires on it before it can go across the LIS.”

“I mean it’s deliberate. That tells me there’s some purpose behind it.”
“It just upset me with what happened to Chase and how they sorta got zero’d in on. When all this is sorta going on, right under everybody’s nose,” Dale Earnhardt Jr concludes.
