Chris Madden statement on Eldora Tire Suspension

Chris Madden: “I have asked from day one to let me clear my name by taking a polygraph test and I told them I would do whatever I needed to do, as of this moment I yet have been given that opportunity.”

Late on September 28th, the World Racing Group handed out a penalty to Chris Madden. The technical reason for the suspension was mostly un-clear in the release. Apparently, Chris Madden himself, is also un-aware.

On Friday, Chris Madden issued a statement. I was on vacation, so I missed it. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

Chris Madden Statement
Eldora Tire Suspension

Good morning all, I would like to say first and foremost I truly appreciate your support this year. To my family, sponsors and friends which I’ve stood by me and supported me in every way, I thank you.

I was notified that one of my tires I raced on at Eldora had come back wrong, some type of chemical was on my tire. However, I have not been notified of specifics as of yet. I have asked from day one to let me clear my name by taking a polygraph test and I told them I would do whatever I needed to do, as of this moment I yet have been given that opportunity. You may ask why? It’s MY NAME, it affects me, looks bad to my sponsors that put their trust in me, my racing career and playing out looks like I’m a cheater, which I am not. I put 100% into this sport I love, traveled thousands of miles this year on the world of outlaw series, to be a competitor in the sport, as of today I have accomplished to stand in the 2nd place position which I am proud of. Why would I jeopardize my career at one race track where I want to win the most? and I know that tires are check their duh, stupid. I wouldn’t bottom line.
That is why I am going to do what I possibly can to clear this.

Also, I have asked for requisitions, results from the labs in which the person stated they sent them to, and invoice of cost. In my defense I asked that I be given the opportunity to send the tire which they still have in their possession to a lab company of my choice, didn’t happen and did not respond back to why I couldn’t.

If we racers don’t start standing up for each other this will continue to happen. Am I trying to ruffle anyone’s feathers? No in no shape or form yet I feel strong about when someone accuses me of something I did not do I will take a stand.

It’s all over social media now, trust me I have heard. Embarrassing yes to a degree to hear your name plastered, but makes me more upset to know that they are people who enjoys drama and wants to destroy others, when they are innocent.

These few weeks have been stressful not knowing what the outcome would be, however I left it in Gods hands and prayed that his will would be done not mine. We were at a practice for my son’s baseball team this past week and a devotion was held for all people in attendance there 4 fields full of adults and kids. The devotion was about praying to God and HIM answering our prayers in three different ways. First, YES 2nd , NO and 3rd, WAIT. This was exactly what was happening. Yet I kept my faith and even through this unnecessary penalty that has taken place with unanswered questions, I lost a lot of money, maybe even respect from some but I have you to know I will fight for what is RIGHT and my character.

Thank you again for your support and without a doubt TEAM CMR will move forward from here on out.
