2017 Pittsburgher 100 results from October 7, 2017 featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Tonight, it’s the final night of racing for the 2017 Pittsburgher 100 at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway. The 1/2 mile dirt track is paying $20,000 to the winner.

B-Main #1
Earl Pearson Jr and Boom Briggs set row 1 in the first main of the night. Green, Pearson gets the jump. He’s clear by a car length in turn 1.
Pearson Jr has checked out on the field. He wins the first B Main. Boom Briggs and Gregg Satterlee fill the remaining transfer spots.
Satterlee will start at the tail of the main. He jumped the cushion during qualifying yesterday, no time. He’s been playing checkup, but he has 100 laps to get it done.
B-Main #2
Dennis Erb Jr and Colton Flinner lead the field to green in B Main #2. Green flag, Dennis Erb Jr is clear by two car lengths into turn 1. Big lead already.
Caution, Kelvin Kohan is around in turn 2.
Green, Dennis Erb Jr checks out. Russ King slots into 2nd. Colton Flinner and Jimmy Owens are fighting for the final transfer spot. Side by side, lap after lap.
Owens drives deep into turn 1, he tried to slide Flinner through the center of turns 1-2. Not clear and Flinner didn’t lift. Big right rear damage for Owens. As the spoiler hangs down, Owens loses contact with Flinner.
Dennis Erb Jr wins B Main #2. King runs 2nd. Flinner claims the final transfer position. Owens will get in on a provisional.
Main Event
The Pittsburgher 100 main event is up next. 100 laps around Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The winner hits the road home with a $20,000 check.
Don O’Neal set the track record in qualifying yesterday. Tonight, O’Neal and Mike Marlar lead the field to green.
Green flag, Don O’Neal jumps to the top. Michael Norris pulls even with O’Neal through the center but loses momentum on exit. Marlar sweeps around the outside, up to 2nd.
Don O’Neal is driving away. He’s running right through a bump at the highsids of turn 1 as he slices through lapped traffic.
Lap 16, touble! Bloomquist is backwards and into the fence in turn 1. Big left rear damage. I think he’s mad at someone. I missed the start of it, cant say who. Caution.
Green, Don O’Neal holds the lead. Caution.
Green. Don O’Neal leads. Lap 22, caution. Norris has right rear damage along with a flat tire. He hits the pits, 20 people surround the car to get it fixed.
Green, O’Neal leads. Satterlee throws a big slide mid pack in turn 1, he picks up two positions. Further back, Bloomquist does the same.
Lap 30, slow car on track. Caution. Zeigler hits pit lane.
Green, Don O’Neal still holds the lead. Darell Lanigan is on the charge. Lanigan started 14th, he just slipped by Richards to take the 3rd position. Caution.
Green, Lanigan slides Marlar in turn 1! Probably wasn’t fully clear, Marlar is over the cushion and inches from the wall in the center of the corner. Marlar jacks it sideways and drives down the banking. He tried to cut under Lanigan on exit, that didn’t work. Move Lanigan to 2nd. Owens is also flying through the field.
Lap 43, caution.
Green, Marlar is back to 2nd in turn 1. The cushion has moved all the way to the wall. A few cars have dropped to the bottom. Caution.
Lap 50, Green flag. Richards loses a spot. Caution. Green, Don O’Neal maintains to the lead. No challengers. O’Neal has led every lap. Caution, Marlar hits the pits.
Lap 60, Green. The top 3 spread out. Marlar pulls it in. Still green, Josh Richards and Jimmy Owens run within 2 car lengths for 3rd. O’Neal is gone, he’s been running the wall, the whole race. Caution.
Lap 82, Green flag. O’Neal is gone. Richards and Lanigan run side by side for 2nd through turn 1. They come out if turn 2, even. They bang doors down the back. Ruchards to the bottom in turn 3. Still side by side. Richards completes the pass in turn 1. Richards to 2nd. Trouble for Steve Francis. Caution.
Lap 88, green. Lanigan takes back the 2nd spot in turn 1. He loses a ton of speed out if turn 2. Earl Pearson Jr has a run. Pearson dives to the bottom in turn 3. Pearson to 3rd. Richards gets him back. O’Neal is gone.
Green, Don O’Neal checks out again. He cruises to the line. O’Neal #5 wins the Pittsburgher 100 at PA Motor Speedway!

October 20-21, it’s the final night of the year for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The LOLMDS season concludes at Portsmouth Raceway Park. 37th Annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship pays $100,000 and doubles as dirt late model’s throwback weekend!

Josh Richards: “We had a good car tonight. There was quite a race among the top five after Don [O’Neal]. He [O’Neal] was unbeatable here tonight. This was a good points finish for us. We’ll head to Portsmouth with at least a decent shot at the title.”
