Texas Motor Speedway presented Dale Earnhardt Jr with a scoreboard
It’s the final season for NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. Upon his final trip to each speedway, he has been presented with a wide range of unique gifts. This weekend at Texas Motor Speedway was no different.
What do you get for somebody that has everything? You get creative. Texas Motor Speedway certainly did that.
Eddie Gossage came strolling into the media center wearing a led jacket. It’s gets weirder because the track owner was also on a horse, indoors.

“But wait, there’s more,” track president Eddie Gossage stated before passing the big gift to Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“You look nervous?,” Gossage states to Dale Jr. “I am nervous,” Earnhardt responds. “Man, you got your show. I got mine, ok,” Gossage states.
“This is position number 1. From the 2000, DirectTV 500. Your first win in NASCAR competition,” Gossage explains the gift.
It’s the actual scoreboard. It’s just been cut down to just the number 1 position. At position 1, the #8 is displayed. The scoreboard lights still work!
“Holy cow!,” Earnhardt is surprised.
“I want you to have the scoreboard from your first win,” the Texas Motor Speedway hands off the gift.
“That’s it? That’s the one?,” Jr is confused on how they modified the scoreboard.
