The Dirt Track at Edgewater – New dirt track on the way!

The Dirt Track at Edgewater – Dirt track persuades the local community, new construction continues

How about some good news?

I have a bit of that. We’re in a time where dirt tracks appear to be closing left, right and center. However, Edgewater is looking to turn the cycle in the opposite direction.

Located in Cleves, Ohio, a new dirt track is under construction. The planed layout is set at 4/10 of a mile. The corners will feature high banking.

Currently, the track is considering dual operating dates. As of now, those days are Friday and Sunday nights.

Initially, there was a backlash from the local community. Some were not happy to hear about  new race track coming to the area. A Change.org petition was filed, allowing the owners to present the support level, in numbers, to the Miami Township trustee’s. That petition received over 5,000 signatures.

A few months back, there were rumors that development had stalled on the property. However, the track operators recently cleared up that rumor.

“Contrary to what you may have heard, plans are being submitted, permits are in the works, and the track is on schedule for opening this coming race season. Thanks to all our supporters and those who either attended the township meeting or signed the petition. We’ll post updates as we have new information,” the Dirt Track at Edgewater officials stated.

Scheduled Opening:
April 2018

Classes:
Sprint Cars, Late Models, Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Pure Stocks and Hornets

Track Location:
4819 E. Miami River Rd., Cleves, Miami Township, OH 45002
