GRT tabs Justin Zeitner as house car driver; Sets sights on Malvern Bank Tour!
(GREENBRIER, ARKANSAS) GRT Race Cars, Inc. owner and founder Joe Garrison announced today that he has tabbed Omaha, Nebraska native Justin Zeitner as the next GRT “House Car” pilot!
Justin, who has enjoyed a myriad of success primarily in the Open Wheel Modified division, will make the jump to compete for the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series Championship in 2018. In addition to those series events, the newly-formed team will concentrate on Lucas Oil MLRA Series and Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series specials in the area.
“I am very excited to work with Justin (Zeitner) and the entire family,” quoted Joe Garrison from the GRT headquarters earlier today.
Joe Garrison continued, “His dad Leon (Zeitner) has been a long-time GRT customer and we have always worked really well together. Justin wheels a modified real well and has won a lot of races, so I’m really pumped to see what he can do in our Super Late Model. It has everyone at the shop reenergized and ready to work really hard on our program for this year!”
Justin and the GRT “House Car” team plan to kick off their version of the 2018 racing season in the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series lid lifter on April 6-7 at the nearby I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska. The following weekend will see them in dirt-slinging action at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, as the Lucas Oil MLRA Series will preside over a doubleheader on April 13-14 paying $2,000 and $3,000 to win respectively.
“Words can’t really describe how excited I am to have the opportunity to jump behind the wheel of the GRT House Car,” exclaimed Justin Zeitner today. “It’s something you strive for when you start racing to get an opportunity on a big stage like this.”
He continued, “Our family has known Joe for a long, long time and I think we have the pieces put in place to really make this partnership work. I don’t want to say I’ll feel a lot of pressure, but the pressure will definitely be on to perform well and I know for a fact that we will be 110% invested in furthering Joe’s House Car program this year and hopefully in future years!”
“We have put together a nice deal with the help of a lot of great marketing partners and product sponsors and I’m looking forward to working even closer with Joe,” said Leon Zeitner this afternoon.
Zeitner continued, “I’ve been in his cars since the early 2000s and I think GRT has a great product. I feel privileged to be aligned with his House Car program and it’s a tremendous opportunity for my son. I can’t thank Joe enough for the trust he has placed with us and we can’t wait for the season to get started in April to showcase the quality of car he builds!”
