2018 FASTRAK Racing Series schedule features over $325,000 in total purse money

2018 FASTRAK Racing Series tour begins tomorrow

The FASTRAK Racing Series has released its 2018 touring schedule for the Chevrolet Performance Late Model tour. The schedule features 21 points events, as well as the 2018 FASTRAK World Challenge and FASTRAK World Championship. No points are awarded on FASTRAK World Championship weekend at Virginia Motor Speedway.

The total purse money on the schedule is over $325,000 for all events. There are still dates being worked on by FASTRAK officials and tracks and will be announced when the details are finalized. There will not be a sperate Southeast and Mid-Ohio Valley tour in 2018, as FASTRAK works to bring more races to the MOV region in the future to have a separate tour.

The season was set to begin on February 9th at Screven Motor Speedway as part of Winter Freeze VIII. However, heavy rains mid-week and a less than favorable forecast forced the postponement of the opening weekend. FASTRAK will still open the season at Screven Motor Speedway with a $3,000 to win event on February 17th. The second race will also be held at the Sylvania, GA track with another $3,000 to win on March 31st.

The month of April will bring a new stop on the FASTRAK Racing Series tour with a $2,000 to win race at the newly sanctioned Clary’s Motor Speedway on April 13th. The following night FASTRAK will be a part of the King of the Commonwealth at Virginia Motor Speedway with a $3,000 to win feature on April 14th. The tour will return to Georgia at Toccoa Raceway on April 20th and 21st for a two-day $5,000 to win program.

The annual Triple Crown will return on Memorial Day weekend. The three-day mini-series will kick off with a $2,000 to win race on May 25th at 311 Motor Speedway. The FASTRAK Racing Series will make its first appearance of 2018 in West Virginia on May 26th at Princeton Speedway for a $2,000 to win race. The Triple Crown will conclude on May 27th at Wythe Raceway with a $3,000 to win race, where the mini-series champion will be crowned on the front stretch.

June kicks off with a $2,000 to win event at Toccoa Raceway. The FASTRAK Racing Series will then head for another double header starting at Clary’s Motor Speedway on June 15th for $2,000 to win. The USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway will the Chevrolet Performance Late Models of the FASTRAK Racing Series battle for $3,000 to win on June 16th.

The FASTRAK Racing Series will kick-off an Independence Day stretch which will start on July 4th at Lavonia Speedway with the $2,000 to win Charlie Mize Memorial. FASTRAK makes a return to I-77 Speedway on July 6th with a $2,000 to win race. The week will conclude on July 7th with a $7,000 to win race at Tyler County Speedway.

The UBB Miners Memorial, a $2,900 to win race, at Princeton Speedway kicks off the month of August on the 4th. The FASTRAK Racing Series returns to 311 Motor Speedway for a $2,000 to win program on August 11th.

The East Coast Rumble, a Labor Day staple of the FASTRAK Racing Series, is scheduled to kick-off at Tyler County Speedway on September 1st with a $5,000 to win event. The East Coast Rumble will conclude at Wythe Raceway in conjunction with the 15th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals, paying $3,000 to win. The winner of the East Coast Rumble will receive a Championship Belt on the front stretch of the Rural Retreat, VA track.

All eyes will then shift to Virginia Motor Speedway for the richest single weekend in all of Chevrolet Performance Late Model racing for the FASTRAK World Championship weekend. It all starts on September 14th with the $5,000 to win FASTRAK World Challenge, for FASTRAK members only who have competed in a minimum of ten sanctioned events throughout the 2018 season. The $20,000 to win 2018 FASTRAK World Championship will be held on September 15th, open to all Chevrolet Performance Late Models who are legal under FASTRAK rules. The rain date for the 2018 FASTRAK World Championship Weekend is slated for September 16th.

The FASTRAK Racing Series will then head to Lavonia Speedway for a two-day $3,000 to win program at Lavonia Speedway on October 20th and 21st. Championship Weekend will once again return to Screven Motor Speedway for two complete shows. The FASTRAK Racing Series will have its penultimate race on November 16th for $2,000 to win. The final race for the Chevrolet Performance Late Models of the FASTRAK Racing Series will be on November 17th, paying $3,000 to win at Screven. That weekend will see the 2018 FASTRAK Racing Series Championship battle concluded.

The 2018 schedule is subject to change and dates may be added during the season. The FASTRAK Racing Series is one tour this season. There will be no separate Southeast and Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Divisions.
