David Gilliland and Johnny Sauter lead the NASCAR Truck Series to the green flag. 20 laps in stages one, 20 in stage two and 60 more to the line. The average finish for the trucks at Daytona is less than a tenth of a second, I expect the same thing tonight.

Stage 1 – Report

Green flag, David Gilliland gets the jump. He’s blocking both lanes heading into turn 1. Two by two behind him.

Lap 16, a 3rd lane has begun to form, but it’s struggling to make any ground. Gilliland and Sauter run side by side for the stage win.

1 to go in stage, Gilliland leads and there’s a lap car ahead. They catch him down the back. But, the lap cars forces them 4 wide into turn 3 for 20th on back.
