Jimmie Johnson torn up in big 2018 Daytona 500 crash

Jimmie Johnson used 3 new cars for Daytona Speedweeks – He tore up all 3

Hendrick Motorsports has been working overtime to keep Jimmie Johnson on the track this week in Daytona. Johnson crashed out The Clash, The Duels and the Daytona 500.

The team has been running back to the shop to get new cars. Now, in the big show, Jimmie Johnson is out early.

The field was racing for stage points. It was the final lap of stage one when chaos took place.

Stenhouse drove from the top of the track to the bottom to catch the front bumper of Blaney. Stenhouse got sideways down the back. He saved it!

However, the rest of the field stacked up behind him. Jones, Johnson, Bowman, Suarez, Byron, Ty Dillon, Larson, Truex and were involved.

“I think there’s some good racing throughout,” Jimmie Johnson told Fox Sports after exiting the infield care center. “But, unfortunately, many thought that was the black and white checkered flag and not the green and white checkered.”

“I mean, lap 59, to be throwing blocks and stuff like that — It’s led to a lot of wrecked race cars.”

“We’ll get to work and go to Atlanta next week. We’ll get this Camaro dialed in for Atlanta and take it over there.”

Johnson finished 12th in the Clash and 19th in his duel. He’ll be credited with 38th in the 2018 Daytona 500.
