Stage 1

Green flag, even into turn 1, even through the center. Joey Logano gets a run off the corner, he takes the lead down the back stretch. Lap 2, Bell moves up a lane, he gets loose, two car lengths lost to the leader.

Cole Custer and Elliott Sadler each have a run on John Hunter Nemechek. Cole Custer is under him off turn 4. Elliott Sadler has a run on the high side, he’s looking. Nemechek is loose, he slides to the wall, right in front of Sadler. Sadler gets into the back on him and pushed him down the track and into Custer. Cole Custer clips the grass and is pointed nose first at the outside wall, heavy contact. Custer will head off on the hook, everyone else continues.

Lap 17, the green flag is out. Logano and Bell restart on row 1. Logano has elected to choose the outside line. Bell gets a push from Kevin Harvick, Bell leads by a 1/2 car length into turn 1. Harvick cuts to the bottom on the entry. 3 wide for the lead into turn 1! Harvick wins the battle off turn 2.

Lap 23, Bell is clicking around the outside wall. He’s found a groove all to himself. Bell sweeps around Logano for 2nd.

7 to go in stage 1, John Hunter Nemechek is on pit road. He thinks he might have a tire going down. 6 to go, a tire is on the track! Michael Annett has lost the outer ring of his tire.

The field hits pit road with just a few green flags set for the remainder of stage 1. Kev Harvick’s crew took 4 tires, as did almost everyone. Harvick’s crew was 3 full seconds quicker than all the other leaders who took four. It’s the quickest 4 tire stop all year, in any series. Logano, Dillon, Cindric and the top 9 cars all stayed out. Harvick restarts 10th.

1 lap shootout, Harvick Harvick is up to 2nd by the exit of turn 2! He carries an entire line of new tires with him. Harvick looks high in turn 3 for the stage win. No contest, Harvick drives from 10th to 1st in almost 1 corner and completes to pass on Logano into turn 3.

Harvick wins stage 1!

“Well, tires are worth a lot huh?,” Joey Logano states via driver to crew radio.

stage 2

The rest of the field hits pitlane, Logano included.

Harvick gets the jump on Christopher Bell. He leads by two car lengths into turn 1. Logano is 3 wide at the back.

Lap 52, Joey Logano has climbed back into the top 5.

5 to go in stage 2, Harvick leads Bell by 3.5 seconds. Harvick has been glued to the yellow line for the entire race. It’s a line he found during a Goodyear tire test in 2008, he’s been running that same line ever since.

Kevin Harvick sweeps stage one and stage two.

Stage 2 Results: 1. Kevin Harvick; 2. Christopher Bell; 3. Joey Logano; 4. Elliott Sadler; 5. Tyler Reddick; 6. Just Allgaier; 7. Austin Cindric; 8. Ty Dillon; 9. Daniel Hemric; 10. Ryan Reed;

Stage 3

Green flag, Harvick leads on the bottom into turn 1. Logano is hanging on his right rear quarter panel. Harvick is clear off turn 2.

Lap 97, Christopher Bell has relocated the high groove. As the tires wear off, he begins to make that line work. He sweeps around Logano, the #22 is glued to the yellow line.

Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick have been bouncing off the apron for the entire race. Logano has been running his nose a little too far under the yellow line. The left front splitter on the #22 is worn down by a full inch or two, it’s been grinding against the apron. Harvick’s splitter looks brand new.

Lap 126, green flag stops are underway. Sadler, Tifft, Allgaier and several others hit the pit lane. Lap 129, Kevin Harvick pits from the lead. Lap 130, Logano pits. Harvick has already cycled back to the lead. Ty Dillon has been handed a penalty, the crew was over the wall too soon.

25 to go, Tyler Reddick has a flat right rear. He hits the pit lane. The tire flew out of the wheel well while he was on the apron, the green is still out. Reddick was running toward the front.

20 to go, Harvick leads Christopher Bell by 1.8 seconds. All of the leaders have 1 set of new tires sitting in the pits.

Two completely different lines at the front. Christopher Bell is now running inches fro the outside wall. Harvick remains on the bottom. Harvick is setting the pace though.

6 to go, Christopher Bell is scraping against the outside wall to fight off Joe Logano. He loses the battle, Logano gets by and Bell drops to the bottom.

Kevin Harvick wins stage 1, stage 2 and the race!
