The 2018 race car is here for the driver from Benton, KY and it’s one of those rare dirt late models that you can actually read from a distance. It’s another minimal design for English as his 2018 campaign is set to begin.

For the 2018 dirt racing season, English will run with the MARS Racing Series. The dirt late model sanction features 15 races between March and September.

“Its a very good spread out schedule and in between races we are going to hit as many big races as we can hit!” Tanner English told RacingNews.co.

The new #96 car has a name. On the rear bumper sits the label ‘White Knight’. The name came from a social media poll. English asked the fans to come up with names for the car. “We then narrowed it down to 4 and the team went with the must votes.”

The finalists: White Knight, Casper, Malicious, Apollo.

Tanner English has just a single car scaled and ready for the tour. He’s been running the Rocket since April 2016. It was one of the first Rocket XR1’s built.

Including the MARS Series, English has a full schedule of dirt late model races ahead. 45-50 races are on the temporary tour.

“Last year was the most I’ve ever done at 45.”

I would imagine it’s a challenge to run that many races with just a single car?

“Yes it is very challenging because if something goes wrong thru the night you don’t have an option, you have to fix it right then and there.”

Where was the more interesting place that you working on the car last season?

“Working on the car at CJ Rayburns is always the most interesting,” Tanner English concluded.

Last season, Tanner English ran a minimal throwback scheme on his #96 car. That wrap was a modern version of Terry English’s 1991 dirt late model. Tanner English is the son of Terry English.

Today, the new car will make it’s debut at Clarksville Speedway in the Toilet Bowl Classic. The Tennessee dirt tracks hosts the MARS Racing Series opener. Two nights featuring a 3000 win, 5000 win and a toilet bowl trophy.
