The 2018 NASCAR Awards Show could move away from Las Vegas

Two new locations are rumored for future NASCAR Awards Ceremonies
NASCAR has yet to sign a contract for the 2018 NASCAR Awards Banquet location.
For the past 9 years, NASCAR has hosted it’s celebratory event in Las Vegas, NV. The awards banquet crowns the NASCAR Champion in an official televised event.
For 2017, the duration of the NASCAR awards banquet was drastically trimmed. Which was a great change! In the past, the event has brought A list stars to the show. Including Cole Trickle or Tom Cruise, whichever you’d prefer to call him.
However, it’s being reported by Motorsport that NASCAR is now exploring alternative locations. Charlotte, NC is of course one of those options on the table. The NASCAR Hall of Fame as well as an executive office is based in downtown Charlotte, NC. Also, in the area, is almost every team as well as the NASCAR R&D Center.
Charlotte, NC already hosts the awards show for the NASCAR Home Track champions. New for 2017, they added the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series to the Charlotte Awards Show. That allowed them to trim the length of the televised awards show.
Another alternative location is being rumored. That location is Nashville, TN.
The winter trip to Las Vegas is a week long show. A highlight of the NASCAR Awards Week is a cruise down the Las Vegas strip with NASCAR Race Cars.
NASCAR actually made a similar trip around Charlotte in 2017. Perhaps that was a test? It was a promotional lap around the city to promote the race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In October, the new Toyota race car was struck by a passenger car.
