Daisy Speedway is billed as The Premier 1/4 Mile of the South; A brand new dirt oval track is on the way!
We lost one recently but a new dirt oval is already here to replace it. Construction on the new dirt track only just begun on Feb 9th, 2018.
CAT tractors have been busy in Daisy, Georgia. A new dirt track is currently well in the works with plans of 4 wide racing in the near future.
View construction photos of Daisy Speedway below.
The brand new dirt track sits on the grounds of Live Oak Motorpark. The complex sits less than an hour out from Savanna, GA.
Characteristics are beginning to take shape as construction continues. The track features a 100ft wide front straight away. Down the back, it widens out to 120ft. In addition, the wall surrounding the racing surface will sit 6 feet tall.
“4+ lanes at all times is the game plan, hang on!” the track management stated on the release of the track.
The blueprint is specific. Before breaking ground, they planned to make a reproduction of Kokomo Speedway. That Indiana track rests a 13 hour drive from Georgia.
Breaking ground on Daisy Speedway is exciting. This marks the 3rd new dirt track that will open in 2018. The other two are The Dirt Track at Edgewater and Thunder Mountain Speedway.
In addition, Richmond Raceway is set to re-open under new management. Things are looking good for the dirt racing community!
Plans have yet to be released on when the new dirt track will let the fans in the gates. However, construction is moving quickly as you can see from the photos below.
Here’s an areal photo of Kokomo Speedway. In the end, this is the game plan.
