Kyle Larson shoots right to the top of the board with a 38.250. Jimmie Johnson runs 2nd early on, he could use some good results.
35 minutes remain in the first practice session. Kevin Harvick shoots to the top of the board. 38.082 is the time, a 189.07 mph average. That will be a new track record!
30 minutes to go, big trouble for Daniel Suarez. His rear end stepped out off the exit of turn 2. He was riding the seam. He tried to catch it, as he turned it back to the right, the front end stuck instantly and he went into the wall. He’s going to a backup car.
