The first race featuring the droop rule has been completed
Last night, the Tri-County Race Track hosted the debut race for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series. In addition, this was also the first race featuring the much talked about ‘droop rule’ which went in effect over the winter.
The rule places a chain on the left rear suspension. Hooked from the chassis to the rear end, it limits left rear lift from the body to the ground.
Ray Cook is the man behind the rule and the promoter of the series. He’s also the owner of the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C.
Shane Clanton set quick time and went to victory lane over Ricky Weiss. Clanton was presented with a $3,000 check in victory lane.

Tonight, the series will run night two of the season. Toccoa Raceway in Toccoa, GA will pay $6,400 to the winner.
