Chris Buescher’s jackman was struck during a pit stop

Medical update: Jackman injured at Martinsville Speedway

Zack Young was working as the jackman for Chris Buescher during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event at Martinsville Speedway. During a pit stop, he was struck on pit road.

He was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.

Evan Marchal was selected as the fill-in crew member for the injured Young. Marchal is the gasman for AJ Allmendinger, the other JTG Daugherty Racing car.

Several medical tests were run on Young as he return to the Charlotte area. The incident has resulted in injuries of torn muscles in his leg and groin.

Chris Buescher scored a 5th place run in the opening round at Daytona International Speedway and a 15th at ISM Raceway. Aside from those, his best finish of the season was scored on Monday at Martinsville Speedway with a 23rd.
