Kyle Benjamin explains the rules of moving a guy for the win

Kyle Benjamin made his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start on Monday. He took the green flag at Martinsville Speedway for the Alpha Energy Solution 250.

It was the better of the two races on the weekend. The MENCS event saw a dominating performance. On the other side, the truck race saw some fender rubbing and door grinding, all the way to the finish line.

John Hunter Nemechek won by a nose. But, he had to fight off the front bumper of Kyle Benjamin to get that win for his small operation.

“I had it in my mind I was going to try something off of 4,” Kyle Benjamin stated from the Martinsville Speedway media center.

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to get by him. But, I thought I’d try to give him a run for his money.”

Mike Hembree: How do you draw the line on how far you’ll go on that last lap?

“One, you don’t want to make any enemies. And, I try to race people how I want to be raced.”

“I’m fine moving somebody if it’s for a win. But, not anything out of control. Something where you can just get a run on them. Not knock them up the track and cause huge problems.”

“That’s not how I want to be raced and I’m not going to race other people like that. So, pretty much do to others what you would be ok with being done to yourself.”

In 2017, Kyle Benjamin made five NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. He led 85 laps, grabbed two pole positions and scored one top five finish.
