Stage 1
Texas Motor Speedway

Green flag, Blaney gets the jump from the inside lane. He leads the race to the bottom in turn 1.

Lap 2, Chad Finchum has looped off turn 2. No damage but the yellow is out. Finchum found himself in the third lane. There’s no grip up there, self spin. Harvick is up to 31st from 40th, in 1 lap.

Green, this time Blaney gets the jump from the alternative outside lane. He’s clear before turn 1, he drops to the bottom as Brandon Jones holds 2nd.

Michael Annett hits the pit lane. He went 3 wide into turn 3. They ran out of room and ping-ponged into the left front fender of Annett. Jamie McMurray has lost it off turn 4. He slides through the grass after the right rear clipped the outside wall. The composite body snapped right back into place, minor damage.

Green, Blaney is again clear from the outside lane. Ryan Reed and Ryan Truex run even into turn 3 for third. The backend steps out on Reed’s machine. He saves it but he’s fallen down to 6th. He barely clipped the apron.

Lap 17, the caution is out for Vinnie Miller. It’s another driver that lost in from lane 3.

Green, same thing for Ryan Blaney. He clears Brandon Jones into turn 1. They run 3 wide in the back.

Christopher Bell can’t hold it on the bottom. He drifts up the banking under Allgaier and runs him wide off turn 2. That was a battle for 9th, but two cars slip by as they hold each other up. Meanwhile, Justin Allgaier thinks he might be down a cylinder.

12 to go in stage 1, Harvick has cracked the top 10 from his 40th place starting position. At the front, Ryan Blaney leads by 2.0 seconds.

Stage 2
Texas Motor Speedway

The field hits the pit lane. 14.6 for Blaney. The other top for drivers were 17+ seconds. Blaney is first in and first off. Custer is +5, he comes out 2nd. Bell was +6. Harvick was blocked in, he had to hit reverse out of the box.

Green, Blaney is clear of Custer. Truex slips out of the groove and the field drives by on the bottom. Jones is also stuck on the outside. Matt Tifft is dropping anchor. He was one of the cars that missed qualifying, he drove into the top 1o. He’s now 25th again.

Lap 63, Tyler Reddick is sideways off turn 4. He missed the wall but makes LR to RF contact with Ryan Reed. Reddick might have a flat left rear, two laps later he still can’t hold the car straight. He was fighting for 9th, he’s now 19th.

Lap 21, Spencer Gallagher was on the inside of Ryan Reed, the air was removed from his spoiler and the backend stepped out on Gallagher. He corrected it, turn back to the right, back to the left again. He loops it at the flag stand and nearly clips Reed on his way around. Minor contact with the wall, it could have been much worse for both drivers. Spencer Gallagher is still pissed off on the radio.

16 to go, green flag Blaney and Bell are even into turn 1. Blaney gets loose on the bottom! Bell to the lead on the outside as Blaney skates up off the bottom with Bell on the gas in the outside lane. Bell pinched him and took the air off his spoiler. Blaney has fallen to 4th.

10 to go, Bell leads but Preece is all over the rear bumper of the leader. The caution is out for Chad Finchum. This is the 2nd time he’s gone around. This time he’s backed it into the fence. The impact was great enough to knock out and crack the rear window. Long cleanup in underway.

The field hits the pit lane with 6 laps to go. Bell wins the race off pit road. Tifft takes no tires? He’s off 2nd. Blaney is off 3rd. Harvick has several issues in his box. The crew lost a tire during Bell’s pit stop, he’ll be sent to the tail. Brandon Jones and Ryan Reed lead them to green, they stayed out. Blaney restarts 14th as the first car on new tires. 1 lap shootout!

Stage 3
Texas Motor Speedway

The rest of the field from the last stop hit the pit lane. Brandon Jones leads them off the pit lane. Daniel Hemric and Tyler Reddick will lead them back to green. Elliott Sadler has climbed to 6th.

Green, Hemric leads by two car lengths into turn 1. Brandon Jones has lost it off turn 4, the backend stepped out and he chased it up the hill. He’s hard in the wall and spinning down the front as the field scatters behind him. The stage 2 winner might be done.

The green is out on lap 106. Big side draft from Reddick on the outside. However, Hemric prevails on the bottom. Harvick fell back on the restart now he’s moving back through the field. He currently runs 14th.

79 to go, Ryan Blaney has a run on Tyler Reddick for 2nd off turn 2. He completes the pass on the bottom in turn 3. Hemric is 1.5 seconds up the road.

73 to go, Ryan Blaney is there. He caught him quickly but now Blaney has lost downforce as the trailing car doesn’t have the air pushing the front end into the track. Blaney keeps pushing the front tires up the hill every time he gets close.

68 to go, Hemric missed the bottom at the entry to turn 1. He’s two feet off the white line. Blaney is glued to the white line and now he has some air on his nose. Blaney has a run off turn 2. They’re even for the lead down the back. New leader at the entry to turn 3.

64 to go, Tyler Reddick begins the green flag pit cycle. But, he’s hit with a speeding penalty. 58 to go, Blaney pits from the lead. Bell assumes the lead temporarily.

55 to go, Blaney runs 6th. He’s 21 seconds behind the leader of Ross Chastain. 52 to go, Chastain is in, he hands the lead to Michael Annett. 47 to go, Annett is in. The lead is passed back to Blaney who leads Bell by 2 seconds.

24 to go, Kevin Harvick is on the pit lane. He had a vibration but was still turning fast laps at the time.

10 laps to go, Ryan Blaney leads Christopher Bell by 2.3 seconds.
