QUALIFYING – Report
April 13, 2018
Hudson O’Neal went off on the hook after turning a few laps in group A.
Scott Bloomquist turned the quickest time overall from group B. He circled the track at 13.501 seconds.
Heat 1 – Report
April 13, 2018
Earl Pearson Jr and Kody Evans set row 1 in the first heat race of the night. Green, Earl Pearson Jr gets the jump.
Don O’Neal is through to 2nd and running down the leader. He’s there, O’Neal looks low. They run even but Pearson gets the launch off the top. Pearson opens up a car length gap.
Just a few laps to go, Pearson is in the wall off turn 4. He bounces off but keeps going. O’Neal looks low again in turn 1. This time he’s through.
Don O’Neal wins heat race number one at Atomic Speedway.
Heat 2 – Report

Tim McCreadie and Jimmy Owens trail the pace truck ahead of heat race number two. Green, McCreadie gets the jump on the bottom. The caution is out early.
Green, McCreadie open a gap to Owens. RJ Conley is around in turn 4. He has right front damage and heads to the pit area.
Green, Owens is hanging with McCreadie in the early parts of the run. But, McCreadie continues to check out after a few laps.
Tim McCreadie wins heat race number two.
Heat 3 – Report

Scott Bloomquist and Gregg Satterlee set the front row in heat three. Green, Bloomquist is clear off turn two.
Bobby Pierce is making it interesting for 3rd. He squeezes in a hole between a car and the wall to make it 3 wide down the front straight.
Scott Bloomquist drives away to win heat race number three.
Heat 4 – Report

Steve Casebolt and Devin Moran lead the field to the green in the final heat race of the night. Green, Moran and Casebolt fight for space into turn 1.
Caution, restart.
Green, Casebolt gets the jump. He gets in the loose stuff off turn 4. The dust fly’s and Casebolt gets swallowed by the pack.
Moran inherits the lead. He drives off to win the final heat race of the night.
B Main – Report
April 13, 2018
Track prep is underway. The water truck has begun in turn 4 with a cheer from the crowd. Evidently, it was dusty for the turn 4 crowd.
Tyler Carpenter drives off to the win in B Main number two. He was glued to the highside and one of the few cars running that lane.
The point leader of Davenport was struggling toward the back. Boom Briggs and Davenport will start from row 12 with provisionals.
Main Event – Report
April 13, 2018
A 4 wide salute for the fans and we’re set for the green in Ohio for the 12th main event of the season. Don O’Neal and Scott Bloomquist will lead the field to the green flag in the Buckeye Spring 50 at Atomic Speedway.
Green flag, Don O’Neal noses ahead on entry to turn 1. Bloomquist is back in the gas, he gets the jump from the highside as they head down the back. Bloomquist leads into turn 3.
Caution, car in the wall off turn 4.
Green, Bloomquist gets the jump. McCreadie runs second. Bloomquist opens up a gap early but McCreadie is chasing him back down. The zero car is driving it through the middle on entry, easily drifting up the banking and catching the cushion on the exit. Don O’Neal to 2nd.
Lap 15, the caution is out for a car stopped on track.
Green, Bloomquist leads. Hudson O’Neal is off track off turn 2. Flat left rear for Hudson. Carpenter is slow down the back. The caution is back out.
Green, McCreadie takes over 2nd in turn 1. Crash behind them, Lanigan, Earl Pearson Jr and Hudson O’Neal are involved. Lanigan will need the hook.
Green, McCreadie and O’Neal run side-by-side, fender rubbing for 2nd. McCreadie wins the battle. Lap 20, the caution is out, Bronson is off track in turn 3.
Green, McCreadie and O’Neal continue to fight and swap 2nd. Lap 27, Frank Heckenast Jr is around and the caution is out.
Green, Bloomquist leads. Davenport started at the tail but he’s charged to the front. The rim is his preferred groove. But, he’s throwing slider after slider in route to the front. Davenport runs 5th.
5 to go, Bloomquist is deep in lapped traffic. Don O’Neal and McCreadie are closing. Bloomquist splits the lappers of Boom Briggs and Kyle Bronson in turn 1, he’s through.
Bloomquist wins at Atomic Speedway!
Tomorrow night they’ll rack ’em again in Indiana. The tour heads to Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN.
