Kyle Larson details the race with Kyle Busch

It was the fourth time that Larson has finished 2nd to Kyle Busch at Bristol Motor Speedway

In recent years, Larson has been quick at Bristol Motor Speedway. After 9 MENCS starts, he doesn’t yet have a win at the colosseum.

Kyle Larson actually had his best finish at Bristol on Monday afternoon, finishing 2nd to Kyle Busch. However, Larson stated that he’s tired of getting beat by Kyle Busch at Bristol Motor Speedway.

It’s the 4th time he’s finished 2nd to Kyle Busch at BMS. The other 3 happened in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. First in March 2013, then in March 2014, again in August 2015 and now for the more recent runner-up to the candyman on Monday.

“I was checked out there, that long run,” Kyle Larson says in the Bristol Motor Speedway media center. “I was really, really good.”

“I was hoping it would go green to the end. Then we pitted and I was actually fine with that too. I just didn’t expect to get that loose that run there. The #17 almost got by me. I thought the grip was getting better. It did a little bit but not nearly good enough.

“Not sure if the track changed there or what. But, we lost the balance on our car.”

Busch put the bumper to Larson and went to the lead. Yet, Larson still had a shot in the final few laps. He tried to get to him.

“I knew it would be hard to get back to him. I knew I would need a lapper to kinda hold him up on exit and kill his momentum to allow me to maybe get back to his bumper. But, there just wasn’t a whole lot of cars left out there.”

Larson has yet to pick up a win at Bristol. Kyle Busch has 21 wins across all 3 national series at Bristol Motor Speedway alone.
