Noah Gragson is getting better at not puking after race victories

Noah Gragson: “I got close to puking. It almost got there, like halfway up. I held it in. So, that’s a step in the right direction for me. We’re making gains all over.”

Noah Gragson famously wrecked it while seeking the lead at Dover International Speedway. An inch in the wrong direction and it was over.

Gragson slid down the back stretch, across the apron, up the hill and into the wall. The fastest truck in the field was totaled following a side-draft gone wrong.

The very next week, he re-bounded with victory.

Did you come into this week with something to prove after Dover?

“You’re always going to have that chip on you’re shoulder. Of hey, I was battling for the win last week. We were really fast and didn’t get the job done.”

“I raced the Xfinity race the next day. That really helped my confidence get back to where it needed to be. All the fans… For being so supportive of me on Instagram and Twitter. I got a lot of positive comments. I read all those comments, good or bad, from the fans. That keeps me going.”

“You always want to go into a race where you thought you should have won the weekend before and you really want to go dominate that one and run strong. That’s what I felt like we’ve done today.”

Noah Gragson Puking

The last time Noah Gragson went to victory lane he ended up puking. That happened behind the safer barrier and in front of the crow at the start finish line of Martinsville Speedway. It’s a bit of an issue.

It happened just after he climbed the fence at Martinsville. At Kansas, he also climbed the fence. The same situation almost repeated itself all over again.

Did you get close to puking this time?

“I actually did get pretty close. I climbed up it. I was sitting up there. I had my visor open and I was trying to take my time. Just let everything sink in.”

“I probably stayed up there a little longer than I should have. But, I was pumping up th crowd.”

“I climbed down like, ‘This is not happening again! No way.’ I got close to puking. It almost got there, like halfway up. I held it in. So, that’s a step in the right direction for me. We’re making gains all over. On the race track, off the race track.”
