Michigan International Speedway results from June 10, 2018 featuring the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

Today, the NASCAR field goes high-speed racing. The 2-mile oval in Brooklyn, Michigan is set to host the MENCS.

We had a 2 hour and 15 minute rain delay. But, we’re ready to go racing. 60 laps in stage 1, 60 more in stage 2 and 80 laps in stage 3 complete the 200 lap race. Kurt Busch and Brad Keselowski lead the field to the green flag.

Stage 1

Green, Keselowski drives it in hard on the bottom. He has to check up a lot to get it to turn. Kurt Busch took and easy entry and made it all back on the exit. Harvick follows Busch around Keselowski.

Stenhouse and Austin Dillon rub fenders down the straight. They fought for space in the corner before. Lap 25, the competition caution is out.

The field hits the pit lane. Kurt Busch, Harvick and Hamling take two tires.

Green, 3 wide for 5th as Kurt Busch leads off turn 2.

Lap 35, Keselowski is on the back bumper of Kurt Busch with 4 fresh tires. The caution is out! Bubba Wallace and David Ragan are around. Bubba Wallace bottomed out the left front splitter, he skated up the track and clipped Ragan. Wallace continues with no damage, Ragan is in the wall.

Green, Blaney takes over 2nd as Keselowski struggles on the bottom again in turn 1. Harvick has fallen to 6th. Kyle Busch has cracked the top 10 after starting in the back. Busch just slid up in front of Logano down the back, Logano gave him a shot.

Lap 45, Blaney is all over the back bumper of Kurt Busch for the lead. Ryan Blaney has a run off turn 4, he cuts it to the apron through the tri-oval. Busch doesn’t attempt a side draft. Blaney is clear into turn 1.

4 to go in stage 1, the caution is out. Matt Kenseth is around on the front stretch. He just lost it off turn 4. It’s going to be a 1 lap shootout for the stage win.

Coming to the green, Chase Elliott has a flat, he heads for pit road. Green, Blaney leads into turn 1. Kyle Larson swings around the outside of Kurt Busch to take 2nd. Ryan Blaney holds them off to win stage 1 at Michigan International Speedway.

Stage 2

The field hits the pits. Kasey Kahne and Austin Dillon lead them off with two fresh tires. Ryan Blaney is the first car off with four.

Green, Harvick and Blaney split Dillon. They come off turn 2, side by side for 2nd. Harvick wins that battle on the outside and sets sights on Kasey Kahne. The caution is out. Suarez lost it off turn 4.

Green, Harvick forces Kahne to take a wide entry into turn 1. He ran him up toward the wall at the end of the front stretch. Harvick cuts to the bottom, creates space between their dorrs and Harvick drives to the lead off turn 2.

Lap 85, Kyle Larson lost it off turn 4. He slides through the infield grass and the caution is out.

The field hits the pit lane, expect Paul Menard. Harvick leads them off the pit lane.

Green, Harvick takes the lead on the bottom in turn 1. Urgency is obvious with rain on the way.

Kevin Harvick wins stage 1. He’s followed by the Stewart-Haas camp of Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch.

Stage 3

The field heads for the pit lane. Bowyer is first off with just two tires. Harvick is off 2nd with 4 new tires.

Green, Harvick noses ahead on the bottom. He’s nearly clear off turn 2, Harvick leaves him room, Bowyer sweeps by on the outside. Harvick runs in his tire tracks.

lap 128, Harvick looks low again in turn 1. Bowyer holds him off! The rain is on the way. Stenhouse is around off turn 2. Stenhouse is slowed by the accordion ahead. Kahne cuts to the bottom to move around. At the same time, Stenhouse had the idea to cut to the bottom as well. They make contact and Stenhouse heads backwards for the outside wall off the nose of Kahne.

The rain is out at Michigan International Speedway with 67 laps to go. The field parks on the pit lane. They call it. Clint Bowyer wins!
