2018 Firecracker 100 results from Lernerville Speedway featuring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series

Sarver, Pennsylvania is set to host the WoOLMS on the fast 4/10-mile oval of Lernerville Speedway. The Firecracker 100 will pay $30,000 to the feature winner following tonight’s main event.

They’re off too a late start at Lernerville Speedway. Rain swept into the area. However, track prep is currently underway and the racing is set to begin.

Hot Laps – Report

Scott Bloomquist is not in attendance tonight. He told the crew to load the car up following a spin in yesterday’s heat race. At the same time, he was expected to take a drug test.

As Bloomquist was away from the speedway, he missed the 11PM deadline for the drug test. As a result, he has been handed a fine and a suspension by World Racing Group.

Chub Frank tops hot laps! He’s no longer running full-time with the WoOLMS tour. However, he quickest in the early stages of tonight’s program. He circled the speedway at 15.539 seconds.

Heat 1 – Report

Chris Madden and Mike Marlar line up on the front row in the first heat race of the night. Green, Madden gets the jump on the inside. He’s clear before the flag stand.

Marlar hangs with Madden on lap 2. He looks low but can’t get the power down. Lap 4, Madden opens up a lead by 3 car lengths.

Madden checks out on the field. he wins the first heat race of the night.

Heat 2 – Report

Mike Norris and Tyler Erb trail the pace truck in heat race number two. Green, Norris gets the jump but Erb hangs to his right rear into turn 1. Norris runs the middle in turn 1, he confirms the position off turn 2. Bagley and Lanigan cross each other and make light contact for the final transfer position.

Lap 3, Clanton is slow in turn 3. The caution is out.

Green, Norris leads into turn 1. Bagley takes over 2nd from Erb. The caution is back out.

Green, Norris is on the gas! He looks to the outside of the leader down the front straight. Norris doesn’t know he’s there. Norris comes up the track for a wider entry into turn 1, that pinches Bagley into the outside wall.

Bagley hits the cushion in turn 1, he’s on the gas. Norris is around in turn 1! Bagley powers to the lead and there’s a big pile up behind him. As Norris slowed due to the contact, Tyler Erb looked to the inside of Norris. He clipped him int he left rear and they both went around in front of the field.

Dan Angellicchio rolled slowly. The car is parked on the roof, wheels up. Light damage and the driver is thinking he’ll roll it back over and take the green in this heat race. However, WoOLMS director Matt Curl has come to pick up Angellicchio. The driver is heading for the pit area, he will not restart the race as planned. Clanton, who was slow early in this race will now restart in 2nd!

Green, Bagley leads into turn 1. Slow car off turn 2, Dan Stone is stopped on the outside of the track.

Green, Bagley leads into turn 1. Clanton works the bottom and Lanigan is on the gas around the top. He gets to the right rear of Clanton and Lanigan powers by on the outside into turn 3.

4 to go, Lanigan is all over the back bumper of Bagley. Lanigan looks to the outside again in turn 1. He’s there, Lanigan takes the lead off turn 2!

3 to go, another slow car in turn 2. The caution is back out.

Green, lanigan leads into turn 1. Tyler Erb is around Bagley for 2nd. Bagley slides from the bottom to the top in turn 1, he lost a ton of momentum.

1 to go, Erb puts pressure on Lanigan and Norris is all over Erb but Lanigan holds on to take the win in heat race number two. 7 cars finished that one.

Heat 3 – Report

Brandon Sheppard and Dale McDowell will lead the field to the start in heat race number three. Green, Sheppard leads into turn 1. McDowell hits the high side but comes up short on corner exit.

Chub Frank is sideways into turn 3. Covert jumped hard on the brakes, spun sideways and the field is stacked up behind them. Gary Lyle jumped over the outside of the track to avoid the pile up. He launched over the banking and backed it into a concrete barrier, 30 feet from the race track. He nearly rolled it on the fence but the car settled on all 4 wheels. The driver is fine.

Green, Sheppard leads by a car length at the flag stand. Eckert hits the high side in turn 1. He sweeps to 3rd off turn 2.

Sheppard wins heat race number three by a straight-away.

Heat 4 – Report

Devin Moran and David Breazeale set row one in the final heat race of the night. Green, Moran gets the jump on the bottom. Satterlee clicks to the high side in turn 1. He’s up to 3rd off turn 2 and Satterlee has a run on Breazeale for 2nd into turn 3.

Sattlerlee dives to the inside, slider. Breazeale tries to cross him off turn 4, he’s tagged and nearly spun around by a car on his inside. The caution is out.

Green, Moran gets the jump. Satterlee is looking for the lead! He’s all over the leader. He clicks to the high side once more. He’s there, Satterlee to the lead. He’s gone!

1 to go, Satterlee is deep in lap traffic. Satterlee looks low on John Weaver off turn 2, Weaver pinches his exit which kills Satterlee’s as well. Moran closes, he’s there in now time. Moran dives to the inside on the final corner.

Now, Moran is help up by Weaver. Satterlee attempts to get back to him but comes up short.

Moran wins the 4th and final heat race.

LCQ #1 – Report

Shane Clanton took the lead in turn 1 and never looked back. He drove to the win in LCQ #1.

LCQ #2 – Report

Matt Lux ran off the track in turn 2, while running 2nd. The dirt is soggy and piled up back there. Drivers have gotten stuck in the mud out there all night. He drove over the banking and the car came to a dead stop.

Jared Miley cruised to win the final last chance qualifier of the night.

Firecracker 100 – Report

The main event is next! $30,000 will go to the race winner. Chris Madden and Brandon Sheppard will lead the field to the start. 4 wide salute for the crowd. We’re ready for the starting line and 100 laps around Lernerville Speedway.

Green flag, Madden gets the jump. Sheppard hangs on his right rear heading into turn 1. Madden leads off turn 2.

Lap 5, Colton Flinner has spun in turn 4. The caution is out.

Green, Madden leads into turn 1. Sheppard selected the bottom for the restart. Moran works to his outside in turn 1. Moran completes the pass for 2nd in turn 3. Tyler Erb drives to the inside of Sheppard back in turn 1. He slides across his nose to take over 3rd.

Lap 20, Sheppard is back to 3rd and he’s all over the bumper of Moran for 2nd. Madden is deep in lap traffic up the road. The track is slick through the middle, moisture at the top and the bottom.

Lap 30, 4 cars under a blanket for 2nd. They race through lap traffic. Moran jumps the cushion in turn 2, he rights it to hold the position. Sheppard is sliding backwards through the field. Tyler Erb to 2nd. Madden leads by 4 seconds.

Lap 33, Tyler Erb jumps the cushion in turn 2. Moran closes. Moran gets a run on the high side back in turn 1. They bang fenders and fight for space down the back stretch. Move Moran back to 2nd.

Lap 38, Madden leads by 5.8 seconds. Charles Powell Jr is around. The caution is out and the lead is gone.

Green, Madden leads into turn 1. He didn’t use the whole track for his entry. Moran jumps to the cushion, he pulls right the gas tank of Madden off turn two. The caution is back out. Larson and Ferguson are around in turn 4, they were fighting for 10th.

Green, Madden leads. Moran sneaks to the outside of Tyler Erb to hold 2nd on the high side.

Mike Marler drops a wheel off the outside of the race track heading into turn 3. He slides, collects it and Darrell Lanigan gets into the back of him. They all continue.

Shane Clanton started 17th after transferring through from the LCQ. He was looking for 6th on Dale McDowell into turn 1. Clanton clipped the left rear of McDowell and the #17 went completely sideways, he saved it.

Lap 50, Madden leads Moran by 2 seconds.

Lap 60, Moran has cut the lead to just .8 seconds. Moran is there! Madden rubs doors with the lap car of Chub Frank. Moran pokes the nose under him through the middle. That doesn’t work. Moran back to the top.

35 to go, the caution is out. I’m not sure what the caution is for, no cars are stopped on the track. Lanigan hits the pit area.

Green, Madden leads into turn 1. Tyler Erb drives it deep to the bottom in turn 1. He slides in front of Moran to take over the runner-up spot. Gregg Satterlee drops a wheel heading into turn 3, he loses several positions. Morgan Bagley is moving on the bottom, he’s racing door to door with Sheppard for 4th.

Lap 31, Chub Frank is around in turn 1. The caution is out.

Green, Madden leads. Tyler Erb slides Moran in turn 1. Moran crosses him off turn 2, he slides him back in turn 3. Tyler Erb slides him once more back in turn 1. Moran jumps the cushion, Bagley takes over 3rd.

The caution is out. Satterlee is parked on the outside of the racing surface of turn 2. Clanton has a flat. They both hit the pits.

Green, Madden leads. Moran leads Erb by a car length into turn 1. Erb slides him in turn 3, Moran crosses him. They cross again. Tyler Erb wins the battle. Madden now leads by 2 seconds. Lanigan is up to 8th already!

15 to go, Marlar is coming. Marlar to the outside of Moran, Marlar to the middle in turn 1, they run 3 wide for 2nd. Erb, Marlar and Moran off turn two.

10 to go, Marlar looks low once more on Erb. Erb gets back to the gas on the outside to hold the position. marlar slides him in turn 3. Marlar to 2nd. Erb drops a wheel down the back stretch.

7 to go, Madden leads Marlar by 7 seconds. Marlar is running him down quick but time is running out quicker.
