Denny Hamlin is taking a new approach to dealing with social media ninjas

Hamlin has a word of advice for the NASCAR community regarding the trolls on social media

There’s positives and negatives to everything. On social media, that’s certainly the case. On one hand, there’s a new way to reach an audience. That gives drivers a new way to promote themselves, show people who they are and overall build their brand.

Before social media, drivers were only seen or approachable at the race track. But, now with social media fans have an outlet to reach their favorite drivers in a positive way.

On the other side of the fence, fans also have a way to reach the drivers that they boo at the race track. Each driver has their own way of dealing with it. Jimmie Johnson has been known to respond to a few of these social media bandits.

Denny Hamlin has a new approach…

“I’ve been very good this year about not replying to mean people,” Denny Hamlin stated from the Sonoma Raceway media center.

“And y’all should do the same. I’m making a ploy to everyone right now to every driver, every team owner, every NASCAR executive and every media member…. Stop replying to people that make nonsense comments.”

“They have sixteen followers. Don’t give them your hundred-thousand. Do not give them your hundred-thousand as your stage.”

“No one will ever see their comment. Just brush it by.”

“Talk about the positives. And I’m not a positive guy.”

How do you ignore it?

“You just scroll by it. Forget it. That person doesn’t exist.”

“They’re an admirer that has lost their way.”
