Teammates Joey logano and Brad Keselowski will lead the field to the flag stand. 20 laps in stage 1, 20 laps in stage 2 and 42 laps in stage 3 will complete the 82 lap event.

Stage 1
Watkins Glen: Xfinity

20 Laps:

Green flag, Joey Logano leads on the inside. Larson was looking to the inside of Keselowski but the #12 holds him off out of turn 1.

Lap 5, Tommy Joe Martins has located a tire barrier. He lost his brakes heading into turn 6.

Green, Logano leads into turn 1. Keselowski takes a late entry on the outside but he’s back in the gas quicker than Logano. He hangs on the left rear off turn 1. Logano holds the lead into turn 2.

Preece and Almirola swap back and forth. They stack up the field between them as they battle for 8th. Almirola takes the position in turn 7, Preece dives back to the inside in turn 1 and takes it back.

10 to go in stage 1, Austin Dillon has cooked the inner loop. He has to come to a complete stop. He was 6th, he’s now 15th.

8 to go, Brandon Jones is the first car to the pit lane. Penalty for Michael Annett, he drove through too many pit stalls.

4 to go, Brad Keselowski has closed to the rear bumper of the leader as Logano skates across the curbs.

2 to go, Keselowski jumps on the brake pedal off turn 7. He heads for the pit lane as Logano stays on the race track.

Brandon Jones has collected the wall. He spun out exiting the inner loop. The next lap, Austin Cindric spins out in the same spot. No caution.

Joey Logano wins stage 1 at The Glen! Kaz Grala started this race from the tail of the field. He climbed through the entire field to crack the top 10.

Stage 2
Watkins Glen: Xfinity

20 Laps:

Logano is first in and first off on the trip to pit lane. Brad Keselowski and AJ Allmendinger who short pitted at the end of stage 1 will lead them to the green. Logano restarts in 9th. Christopher Bell is handed a penalty as the tire man was over the wall too soon. A heavy rain cloud has approached in turn 1.

Green flag, Keselowski noses ahead into turn 1. Allmendinger makes it all back under braking. Allmendinger pulls even with him off turn 1. Keselowski holds him off on the bottom into turn 2. Joey Gase is around in turn 5, no caution.

Big crash up the hill off turn 3. The field locks up the brakes to avoid it. Justin Haley and Matt Tifft made contact and they both went around and collected the guardrail.

The rain is here! 10 to go in stage 1, the field hits the pit lane for rain tires. Larson spins out before getting to the pits.

The wipers are on and we’re going rain racing at Watkins Glen! Yes! Almirola had too many men over the wall, he’ll have to serve a penalty.

Green, AJ Allmendinger to the lead in turn 1. He crosses through the racing line, trying to avoid the rubber and oil build up on the line. Keselowski is falling in a hurry, he’s lost in the rain! More trouble for Keselowski, he runs wide into turn 1 as he slides through the braking zone.

AJ Allmendinger has checked out! He leads by 8 seconds. “I about wrecked when I shut the wiper off,” Allmendinger radio.

Vinnie Miller has found the tire barriers in turn 1. It’s his first road course race. Let alone a rain race. He locked up the front tires and drove straight off the track and into the barriers. 5 to go, the red flag is out.

Brad Keselowski and others are on pit road. Keselowski has had enough, he’s put on slick tires. The track is still wet.

Green, Allmendinger leads. The field is mixed with rain and slick tires. Keselowski has cracked the top 15 on slicks.

42 Laps:

The field hits the pit lane to remove rain tires. Keselowski remains on the track as he’s already on slicks. Keselowski and Preece will lead them to the green flag.

Green flag, Keselowski leads on the bottom. Preece is even with him off the corner. Preece has more momentum into turn 2. He clears him and drops to the bottom as they head up the hill.

Keselowski is all over the back bumper of Preece. He looks to the inside back in turn 1. Keselowski retakes the lead as Elliott Sadler loops it off turn 6, no caution.

33 to go, AJ Allmendinger and Joey Logano are slicing through the field. They now run 5th and 6th. Hemric hits the pit lane, he’s good on fuel for the rest of the race.

31 to go, Keselowski hits the pit lane. 4 tire stop for Keselowski. Austin Dillon has a penalty for driving through too many pit boxes. AJ Allmendinger slides through his pit box, he has to backup for service. 1 lap penalty for serving the penalty outside of the box.

26 to go, Ryan Preece hits the pit lane from the lead. Fuel only for Preece. Austin Dillon has a flat left rear, no caution.

Logano leads by 22 seconds. 25 to go, Logano hits the pit lane. Alex Labbe leads but he’ll need fuel. 24 to go, Keselowski runs 4th and Larson runs 5th. These are the first two cars that can make it on fuel.

20 to go, Reddick leads. Keselowski is on his bumper as Larson is all over Keselowski. Keselowski looks to the inside of Reddick into turn 6, he takes the lead and Larson follows him through.

16 to go, the caution is out as a car is stopped on the track.

Green, Keselowski gets a huge jump. Preece and Larson fight for 2nd into turn 1, Preece wins the battle.

Joey Logano pushes Larson up the hill through turn 3. He’s on fresher tires. Larson makes a mistake into turn 5, Logano is through. Larson has ignition or fuel issues.

11 to go, the caution is out as a car has stalled in turn 6.

Green, Keselowski gets a horrible restart. Preece is even with him on the outside. Joey Logano dives to the bottom, 3 wide for the lead down the hill and into turn 1. They make contact, doors rubs for all 3. Logano wins the battle on the bottom as Preece is forced over the curb at the exit of turn 1. Keselowski holds 2nd.

Larson is slow on track. He tries to come to pit road under green, he missed it.

6 to go, Keselowski has run down Logano. Keselowski is on older tires but he’s quicker right now.

4 to go, Keselowski has a run off turn 5. Logano blocks the inside into turn 6. Keselowski wheel hops into turn 1. The rear end steps out and Keselowski is around, no caution. Logano now lead Allgaier by 4.5 seconds.
