Qualifying – Report

Every car in the field is running against the wall in turns 1-2. The track is dry and the cushion is hardly there already.

Several drivers pushed it too. Davenport, Owens, Hoffman and others all scrapped the wall.

Brandon Overton set overall quick time at a 17.143. Bobby Pierce was quickest in group B with a 17.328.

They’re sprinkling a bit of water on the track ahead of the modified race.

Heat 1 – Report

Bobby Pierce and Tim McCreadie set row one in heat race number one. Green, Pierce slides McCreadie in turn 1. McCreadie slides him back in turn 2.

Pierce is under fire from Tyler Erb. They trade sliders. Lap 3, the caution is out. Erb has a flat.

Green, McCreadie leads. Pierce fights off a charge from Wells. Both the leaders run right against the wall. McDowell is on the bottom and coming quick from his 6th place starting spot.

Pierce holds him off as McCreadie drives away. McCreadie wins heat race number one!

Heat 2 – Report

Earl Pearson Jr and Scott Bloomquist trail the pace truck ahead of heat race number two. Green, Pearson gets the jump. Bloomquist is in a battle for 2nd.

Bloomquist holds 2nd. Pearson has opened a gap of 5 car lengths.

Lap 5, spin in turn 4. The caution is out.

Green, Pearson opens up a gap. Bloomquist is trying to hold off Buckingham. Pearson and Buckingham runs the bottom. Bloomquist runs the middle.

Heat 3 – Report

Josh Richards and Jason Jameson set the front row in heat race number three. Jameson is in a backup car after last night’s rollover in turn 1.

Green, they run side by side for the lead in turn 1. Side by side off turn two. Jameson dives to the bottom in turn 3. Slider but Richards crosses him on exit.

As they slow each other down, Dohm is coming. They run three wide into turn three. Richards holds the lead on the bottom.

Heat 4 – Report

Brandon Overton and Jimmy Owens lead them to the starting line in heat race number four. Green, Hudson O’Neal makes is three wide at the flag stand from row two.

The run 3 wide into turn 1. Hudson O’Neal on the bottom. He drives it deep into the corner and drifts up the hill. Hudson O’Neal leads off turn two.

No challengers for Hudson O’Neal. He wins heat race number four!

Heat 5 – Report

Nick Hoffman and Steve Casebolt will cue the starter in heat race number five. Green, they fight for space and bang fenders into turn 1.

Casebolt leads off turn two. They cross in turn 3. They cross again. Hoffman noses ahead.

Heat 6 – Report

Darrell Lanigan and Mason Zeigler set the front row in the final heat race of the night. Green, Zeigler falls to 5th off turn 2. False start.

Green, Lanigan to the bottom. Zeigler hangs on his right rear on the outside. Jimmy Mars moves to 3rd as he bounces off the cushion.

Lap 3, Mars jumps the cushion and slaps the wall. He continues to roll. Lanigan has opened a gap to Zeigler.

Main Event – Report

The LOLMDS point leader will need a provisional. Davenport along with Dennis Erb Jr will start at the tail with the two provisional starting spots.

Tim McCreadie and Hudson O’Neal will lead them to the start. Four wide salute and we’re ready for 50 laps at Florence Speedway.

Green flag, McCreadie leads on the bottom into turn 1. Hudson O’Neal slides up the hill and tags the wall lightly with the right rear. Hudson O’Neal falls to 4th off turn two.

Move Hoffman to 2nd. He’s looking low on McCreadie in turn 3. McCreadie holds it and begins to open a gap.

Lap 5, Kyle Bronson tags the wall off turn 4. He’s back in the throttle.

Lap 18, Hoffman is closing on McCreadie. They are deep in lap traffic. There’s a huge rut at the top of turns three and four. Hoffman and Pierce are running right through it.

Lap 32, Pierce is catching Hoffman. McCreadie leads by 4 car lengths.

McCreadie moves up the track to attempt the rut. He bails on that line. Pierce is working Hoffman for 2nd. He slides him and sets sight on McCreadie.

Lap 44, McCreadie leads by 15 car lengths. Pierce tags the wall in turn 3. He bounces off and continues.

Lap 48, Pierce is closing quick. He’s down to two car lengths.

Lap 49, Pierce is there.

1 to go, Pierce is on his bumper. They run nose to tail through turns 1-2. Pierce runs on his bumper off turn 2.

Pierce looks low in turn 3. The lap car of Shanon Buckingham is glued to the bottom. Pierce has to move to the middle. He pulls to his number but McCreadie powers by on the high side off turn 4.
