Round 1
Truck Qualifying

15 min: Top 24 advance

Todd Gilliland failed pre-qualifying inspection on the first pass. The crew pushed the car back to the garage to work on it before making another pass. This #4 truck has to win tonight to make the playoffs. He made it through just ahead of the green in the session.

5 minutes in, only two trucks have turned a lap. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was on track with a different rubber ahead of this qualifying session. The track is likely to be slick in the early runs. Fast teams are saving their runs.

7 minutes remain, Matt Crafton dove inside of Norm Benning into turn 1. Crafton was well passed his number, Benning still came down on him. He was unaware he was there. There’s a big dent of the right front for Crafton. Benning went up and tagged the outside wall, no caution.

John Hunter Nemechek wins round 1 of knockout qualifying for the trucks at Bristol!

Round 2
Truck Qualifying

10 min: Top 12 advance

Parker Kligerman might now have the truck to beat in qualifying. However, this truck is the truck to beat tonight in the race. He was good in long runs in practice and the truck looks solid on the bottom in qualifying.

Matt Crafton and crew are trying to figure out if they’ll repair the damage from round 1 or not. If they do, he’ll go to the back of the field for the race. He’s on the track with a minute remaining. However, he’s missed the top 12. The crew chief kicked the passenger side door as the truck sits on pit lane after the run.
