Matt DiBenedetto tosses himself into NASCAR silly season

Matt DiBenedetto made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2015. He ran 2015-16 for BK Racing. He collected a best finish of 6th at Bristol Motor Speedway.

For 2017, DiBenedetto made the move to Go Fas Racing. He’s collected three top-10’s with the team.

For 2019, DiBenedetto will move elsewhere. He doesn’t know where yet. He’s taking a gamble that he’ll land with a better team and complete his goal of winning races.

Given the announcement above, it would be assumed that DiBenedetto already has a seat in mind. His phone lit up with that very question.

But, that’s not the case at all. DiBenedetto cleared up those rumors. He confirmed that he had no plans other than to search for a better seat.

“Unfortunately that’s not true. That’s people speculating and hoping for the the best. Honest truth. I don’t have anything lined up and this is just me taking a leap of faith,” DiBenedetto stated via Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

The press conference that was scheduled for Saturday morning has since been canceled. DiBenedetto made that announcement around 11pm on Friday.

“Due to circumstances beyond my control, we will have to reschedule tomorrow’s media availability. We will let you know as soon as we get it figured out,” the NASCAR driver stated.
