Round 1
NASCAR Xfinity Qualifying
15 minutes: Top 24 advance
Qualifying is set to get underway. However, there’s long line at the NASCAR Optical Scanning Station. Most teams are already on their third attempt. As that happens they are sent to the tail of the long line to start again. A third failure will result in the ejection of the car chief.
Most teams are failing the same thing. Almost all failures are related to rear camber or rear tow. However, there’s only 40
6 minutes remain in the session, the red flag is out. Garrett Smithley is in the wall hard off turn four. Something broke or he had a flat right front. Justin Allgaier was on the track and on his hot lap.
That red flag was much needed for the cars rolling through NASCAR tech inspection. The line continues to roll under red. Cole Custer has just passed inspection.
5 minutes remain in round one, Tyler Reddick sits at the top of the board with a 30.621.
2 minutes remain, the crew has the car ready for Cole Custer after passing inspection. He’s likely to be the last car to make it out of inspection and turn a lap.
1 minute and 20 seconds remain, Custer heads down the pit lane to start his warm up lap. Cole Custer takes it to the top of the board!

NASCAR Xfinity Qualifying
10 minutes: Top 12 advance
Matt Tifft did not advance into round two. His car chief will also be ejected from the speedway. Many drivers suffered the same result.
Drivers who failed to make round two after failing inspection: Ryan Preece, Ryan Truex, Daniel Hemric, Brandon Jones, Matt Tifft, Garrett Smithley and Stan Mullis.
3 minutes remain in round two, Cole Custer again sits at the top of the board.
2 minutes remain, Chase Briscoe is sideways coming to start his lap. He’s 13th! He missed it by one position.

5 minutes: Run for the NASCAR Xfinity pole
2 minutes remain, Austin Cindric leads. It’s short lived, Cole Custer returns to the top of the board. He’s looking to sweep all three sessions of NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying.
Cole Custer takes the pole!
“That was the craziest qualifying session I’ve ever been a part of,” Cole Custer tells NBC Sports after the pole run.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series DC Solar 300 is set to begin at 5PM. The race will be a 200-lap event.
