This afternoon, day two of the show gets underway. The 2018 Jackson 100 is set to close at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. With the rainout on Saturday, it’s a Sunday afternoon showing.

The 0.25-mile dirt oval welcomes the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The feature winner of the 100-lap main event will pocket a check for $20,000. Qualifying on Friday set the lineups for today’s heat races.

Heat 1 – Report

Jason Jameson and Josh Richards set the front row for the first heat race of the weekend. Green flag, Richards noses ahead on the outside into turn one.

Lap 2, Jameson is fighting back on the bottom. He pulls to his number but Richards holds him off.

Richards has opened the gap to 4 car lengths.

Last lap, the caution is out.

Green, Richards drives away. He wins the first heat race of the day at Brownstown Speedway.

Heat 2 – Report

Ricky Thornton Jr and Nick Hoffman trail the pace truck ahead of heat race number two. Green flag, Thornton gets the jump on Hoffman.

Bronson is getting aggressive from row two. He looks to make it three wide on the bottom as they head into turn one. Thornton leads Bronson off turn two.

The top three all run the cushion for the duration of the lap. Thornton has opened up a gap.

Ricky Thornton Jr wins heat race number two!

Heat 3 – Report

Mason Zeigler and Scott James will lead them to the starting line in heat race number three. Green flag, Zeigler slides James into turn one. Zeigler leads off turn two.

James crosses under him off turn two. James throws the slider in turn three. Scott James leads off turn four.

Zeigler returns the slider back in turn one. He makes it stick off turn two. Zeigler holds the lead into turn three.

Davenport is making ground on the bottom. He’s the only car to do that all day. Davenport started in 7th, he’s up to 3rd.

The caution is out. Satterlee is over the banking in turn one.

Green, Davenport takes over 2nd on the bottom!

Mason Zeigler wins heat race number three!

Heat 4 – Report

Kent Robinson and Don O’Neal set row one for the final heat race of the night. Green flag, Robinson leads into turn one.

McCreadie is looking to the outside of O’Neal off turn two. O’Neal holds it on the bottom. McCreadie slots in behind him as the both run the bottom.

Slow car in turn four. The caution is out.

Green, Robinson runs the middle, O’Neal to the bottom. Meanwhile, McCreadie jumps to the top!

McCreadie is there! He swings around O’Neal to take 2nd. Robinson leaves the high side open in turn three. McCreadie kicks it to the cushion!

They run even for the lead off turn four. McCreadie completes the pass on the outside heading back into turn one.

McCreadie opens the gap.

The caution is back out. A car has gone off track in turn three.

Green, McCreadie leads on the top. Big crash behind him!

Greg Johnson is upside down and over the banking into turn three. The car spun like a vertical like a top on the back bumper before landing on the roof. He has climbed from the car. The driver is ok.

Green, McCreadie leads on the top. O’Neal is having a look on the bottom but he can’t pull even with him. McCreadie opens the gap.

McCreadie takes the win in the final heat race of the Jackson 100!

Main Event – Report

It was dusty following the conclusion of the b mains. The entire track has been prepped ahead of the main event. It looks like a track ready for qualifying. They’ve also pushed the inside tire barriers more toward the infield as well.

Josh Richards and Mason Zeigler will lead the field to the starting line. Gregg Satterlee, Devin Gilpin and Alan Magner will put the provisionals to use.

It’s a 100-lap main event in the daylight at Brownstown Speedway. The winner of the Jackson 100 will receive a check for $20,000. Four wide salute for the Indiana dirt racing crowd and we’re off.

Green flag, Zeigler wind the race off turn two on the top. Richards slots into 2nd. Don O’Neal has picked up left front damage on the first lap.

Lap 10, McCreadie moves to the bottom. He’s looking for a way by Richards for 2nd. He takes the spot.

Zeigler is 10 car lengths up the track. The leader is in heavy lap traffic.

Lap 18, McCreadie has run down the leader. Zeigler is behind lap cars on the bottom. McCreadie looks to the outside and drives by, new leader.

Lap 21, the caution is out. Dennis Erb Jr jumped the cushion and went off track in turn four.

Green, McCreadie all but stops on the high side of turn one. Zeigler drives by on the inside. McCreadie drives straight diwn the hill. He late apexes in turn two and crosses Zeigler down the back.

McCreadie slides Zeigler into turn three. He retakes the lead off turn four.

The caution is out for debris.

Green, McCreadie leads. Davenport and Zeigler run side by side into turn one for 2nd. Davenport takes the position on the top off turn two.

Lap 39, McCreadie is in heavy lap traffic. He splits them through the middle. McCreadie leads Davenport by 10 car lengths.

Most of the field has moved to the bottom. Pierce has climbed to 4th after transferring for the B Main.

Lap 43, Jameson is off track in turn one. The caution is back out. Bloomquist heads to the pit area for fresh rubber.

Green, McCreadie leads. Davenport, Pierce and Pearson run three wide for 2nd. They’re still three wide, two laps later. Pierce wins the battle on the bottom.

Davenport is hanging on his right rear. Pierce still has the position. McCreadie leads by 5 car lengths.

Lap 52, Devin Gilpin is around in turn three. The caution is back out.

Green, Pierce is looking low on McCreadie in turn one. Two laps later, he’s still hanging onto his left rear off the corner.

McCreadie opens it back up, he leads by two car lengths. The bottom is still dark brown but it’s rough. The middle and top and slicking off.

Lap 59, Josh Richards is slow. The caution is out.

Green, Davenport looks to the cushion into turn one. He’s even with McCreadie off turn two. Pierce is looking for a lane on the bottom. They’re three wide for the lead down the back.

Davenport takes it to the top into turn three. He leads off turn four.

Lap 65, Bloomquist brings out the caution. He heads to the pits and returns.

Green, Davenport leads. McCreadie and Pierce run side by side for 2nd. Pierce takes the position on the bottom.

Lap 70, Don O’Neal spins in turn two. The caution is back out.

Green, Pierce is looking to the inside of Davenport for the lead. They run side by side. Pierce noses ahead on the bottom off turn two. Davenport moves back ahead by a few feet. They’re still side by side, 5 laps later. They trade the lead, by inches.

Davenport finally clears him on the top.

Lap 81, Don O’Neal slides across the nose of Satterlee off turn two. Satterlee crosses him. They make contact into turn three, both cars are around and parked in turn three. The caution is out.

Green, Davenport leads. Pierce and McCreadie run side by side for 2nd. Pierce takes the position on the bottom.

Lap 90, Davenport leads Pierce by 10 car lengths.

Lap 95, Pierce is closing!

Lap 98, Pierce looks to the inside in turn one! They run even down the back. Pierce noses ahead off turn four.

Last lap, Davenport fights back in turn one. Davenport noses ahead down the back.

Pierce pulls even as the head into turn three. Davenport can’t get the power down off turn four. Pierce beats him to the line by a just a few feet!
