Beating on the horn, McCreadie and his little trailer circled Eldora Speedway backwards after winning the World 100

Tim McCreadie has just loaded up taken home the $51,000 check following the World 100 win at Eldora Speedway. This win comes after an up and down year for McCreadie and his Longhorn team.

Last night, he pulled into victory lane and went to beating on the roof of his machine in celebration. When climbing from the car, even he was shocked.

“Son of a bitch. How about that, huh?” Tim McCreadie said from victory lane.

“I tell you what. I’ve stood up there with you guys for a bunch of these features. So, to be down here. It’s pretty amazing.”

“Carolina people complain about funding and then we just shut our mouths and keep digging along with what we got. I owe this to Justin Labonte and Longhorn Chassis and everybody on this whole time. Jonathan’s been helping a lot with his whole team.”

“It feels good to be down here.”

In the Saturday afternoon make-up portion of the show, McCreadie finished 4th in his heat race. However, the top-three are required to stop in the tech area after the race. Both Billy Moyer and Scott Bloomquist accidentally drove right past the tech area. Both of those drivers were disqualified and McCreadie was moved from 4th to 2nd. That was an important moment for McCreadie’s weekend.

“Some days you get a little luck. Earlier today, guys didn’t go to tech.”

In the Saturday night portion of the show, McCreadie took the win in his heat race.

“We tried a whole different setup in the feature than what we ran in The Dream. We’re like, ‘Yeah, that’s not it.’ Even when we ran second.”

“These guys, it’s amazing the effort they put in. I get to go home and be with my wife and my two beautiful kids.”

“I don’t really know what to say. Usually, I’m not at a loss for words.”

“We’ll be here for awhile so make sure you stop by,” McCreadie closed with an invite for the fans. “We’re in a little dually over here in the corner.”

Tim McCreadie has retired the Sweeteners Plus hauler. That box is owned by the Sweeteners company. Due to stricter laws, the company is now requiring that one of their own employees drive the truck or for Tim himself to drive it. But, Tim doesn’t have a CDL nor does he have time to get one.

Additionally, no Sweetners employee is interested in taking a pay cut to hit the road with a national dirt late model team. As a result, Justin Labonte has pulled out his own trailer and hit the road with Tim in their tiny enclosed trailer.

The small trailer is awesome. But, it’s also landed the #39 team in a bit of trouble in 2018. In the Dirt Million, Tim had a really fast car. However, he rolled it during the preliminary night. That damage bent a few of the bars.

Due to the small trailer, they didn’t have a backup car. Instead, McCreadie loaded up and left the race track. Despite being one of the fastest drivers at the track.

Below, his new dually and trailer setup is pictured.

“I wanted to run up by the wall. I’ve been watching Bobby Pierce beat us every time like that. I told these guys to get different tires ready and to watch the #32 car. Because if he starts rolling up by the wall, you better know what he did.”

Pierce has been knocking the wall down in recent weeks. I mean that in a good way. And it’s been working. In the Pittsburgher 100, he found a lane all to himself, right against the wall. He drove through the field and took the win.

At Eldora, Pierce did the same thing. He climbed from deep in the field and cracked the top-10. However, the top went away and Pierce went to the pit lane for new tires toward the end of the race.

Meanwhile, Tim McCreadie remained glued to the bottom, the entire race.

“Smoke told me it was like a Big-Block track out there. ‘Drive it like a big-block.’ And that’s kinda what I did.”

Eldora Speedway GM, Roger Slack: “Proud to call Tim Mccreadie my friend. We first met in 1988. When he won the Chili Bowl, I was the flagman & I gave him my checkered flags – starting a tradition. I hope his World 100 win here tonight starts another tradition – & we see the pits full of duallies & box trailers!”

After the World 100 win, Tim McCreadie loaded up his tiny trailer. He put the dually in gear and pulled his hauler around the race track while beating on the horn.
