Dale Earnhardt commissioned this custom yacht before he passed
On February 18, 2001, Dale Earnhardt lost his life on the final lap of the Daytona 500. The sport lost the face of NASCAR in tragedy.
Before that, Earnhardt had a custom built yacht commissioned. It’s a 100′ sea cruiser that goes by the name ‘Sunday Money’.
The 5 bedroom machine is capable of 18 kn. It currently floats with a #3 flag at the bow.
The Intimidator was hands on with the design process. He selected the interior and layout features of the vessel.
It’s a Detroit Diesel model number 16V-2000. To date, it has just 2300 of use. It has updated electronics and a new paint job as well.
He never got a chance to enjoy his yacht. However, you might. Dale Earnhardt’s yacht is now up for sale.
“I’m privileged to present to you Sunday Money. She is arguably the most famous 100′ Hatteras Motor Yacht to date. With her timeless lines, recent refit and unprecedented seaworthiness she has to be on the top of every yacht buyers list,” Denison Yachting says of the masterpiece.
The yacht for Dale Earnhardt is currently located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the winter.
The yacht is on the market. It’s listed for sale at $4,200,000. It’s been available for 423 days.
Dale Earnhardt was a NASCAR champion. Seven time champion to be exact. To this day, that remains a tie for the series title record with Richard Petty. Dale Sr ran 676 NASCAR Winston Cup Series races and grabbed 76 wins along the way.
