2019 Daytona 500
Final Practice – Report

Duration: 50 minutes
Session Start: 12:05pm

Brad Keselowski changed valve springs ahead of this practice and McMurray changed engine seals. Both of those are approved changes, no penalties.

Keselowski will start toward the tail anyway. He suffered a pit stop penalty during his Duel event.

15 minutes in, most teams are making single car runs. Currently, Michael McDowell leads practice with a 47.012.

Teams are required to use a single engine for the duration of NASCAR Speedweeks, Clash excluded. With a 500-mile race tomorrow, many teams are electing to skip the fifth and final NASCAR practice. Others are just making 1-2 shakedown laps.

No Joe Gibbs Racing teams took to the take in final practice. Jimmie Johnson and Kurt Busch turned the most laps. Johnson was chasing mechanical issues with his digital dashboard.

Michael McDowell wins the final Daytona 500 practice session.
