This weekend, all three NASCAR national series are on the ticket. The 1.54-mile of Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia hosts the weekend.

It’s the first 1.5-mile on the schedule. It’s the first speedway oval that gets a look at the new rules package with points on the line.
What’s different in NASCAR rules from last year at AMS? 200 less horsepower, a standard radiator pan from 37″ to 31″, 2″ front splitter, bigger 8″ by 61″ rear spoiler.
The cars will be slower. NASCAR has designed the package to bring the speeds down to the pace of 1990’s NASCAR. The major reason is to lessen the importance of aerodynamic downforce.
The goal isn’t to create pack racing. It is to tighten up the racing and simultaneously allow more passing by lessening the aerodynamic push.
Will you like it? Tune in to the Atlanta Motor Speedway tv times below to find out.
