Atlanta Motor Speedway: Penalty Report (February 2019)

Three teams fined following Atlanta Motor Speedway

Three lugnut penalties were issued following the triple-header weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Two fines were issued in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series division. A lugnut was found loose on the #43 of Bubba Wallace and the #95 machine of Matt DiBenedetto.

Crew chiefs Derek Stamets (#43) and Mike Wheeler (#95) have each been fined $10,000 for the infraction.

In addition, Johnny Sauter was found with a loose lugnut following the NASCAR Truck Series race. Crew cheif Joel Shear Jr has been fined $2,500.

There were no fines or penalties issued for the NASCAR Xfinity Series field.

After the race, NASCAR did take the #4 of Kevin Harvick back to the NASCAR R&D Center for further evaluation. If penalties are pending for his machine, they likely wouldn’t be released until tomorrow.
