NASCAR inspection failure ahead of the race at Texas Motor Speedway

Second NASCAR crew member ejected from Texas Motor Speedway this weekend

Ryan Newman has failed pre-race inspection twice at Texas Motor Speedway.

Per the NASCAR rule book, Ryan Newman will now join the rear of the field for the start of today’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event.

NASCAR has ejected a Rosuh-Fenway Racing crew member of their choosing. Todd Brewer is the ejected crew member.

Additionally, Ryan Newman will serve a 15 minute practice penalty next week at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Newman was the only car to fail inspection two or more times ahead of the race. However, Erik Jones failed post-qualifying inspection on Friday. He’ll join Newman at the rear.

Today’s race in Fort Worth, Texas is set to get underway in about an hour.

Inspection Failures: Rule book

Inspection infractions have been amplified for 2019. The new violations and penalties are as follows:

1 NASCAR inspection failure: No harm, come back and try again.

2 NASCAR inspection failures: A crew member is ejected from the race track for the duration of the weekend.

3 NASCAR inspection failures: If a team failed three times then they would not be allowed to qualify.

4 NASCAR inspection failures: If a team failed four times then they lose a car chief, miss qualifying and they have to make a pass through on lap 1 of the race.

No team failed 3 times or more during this morning’s inspection session. However, more inspections remain ahead of Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.
