Four cars fail pre-race NASCAR inspection at Dover International Speedway

Crew members ejected from Dover International Speedway

Currently, NASCAR is attempting to dry the racing surface as weather is in the area. However, when the green flag does finally drop on the race, some cars will be heading to the rear.

Two failures: Teams failing twice were the No. 19 of Martin Truex Jr., the No. 47 of Ryan Preece and the No. 88 of Alex Bowman.

Truex, Preece and Bowman have all seen a crew member ejected. They will also see a 15 minute practice penalty next week.

Bowman and Truex each had an engineer ejected. Preece lost his car chief.

Three failures: The No. 36 of Matt Tifft has failed three times. Tifft has seen a crew member ejected. On the drop of the green flag, Tifft will serve a pass through penalty. He will also serve a 30 minute practice penalty the next weekend.

Tifft has seen his race engineer ejected.

NASCAR inspection rules

Dover International Speedway inspection violations:

1 NASCAR Inspection failure: No penalty, the team gets to go to the back of the inspection line and try again.

2 NASCAR inspection failure: If a team fails twice, NASCAR will eject a crew member of their choosing. In addition, they are forced to the start the race in the rear.

3 NASCAR inspection failures: If a team failed three times then they lose a crew member. They have to start at the rear. In addition, the car has to serve a pass through penalty on pit lane at the start of the race.
