Update: Several cars sent to the rear due to Kansas Speedway inspection failures

Today, it’s single car runs in qualifying, the latest adjustment to NASCAR’s qualifying rules. Drivers will get just 1 timed lap in qualifying.

This is also on impound race. Cars will roll through inspection after qualifying which will double as pre-race inspection.

Kansas Speedway
Qualifying – Report

WFO at Kansas Speedway! But, there won’t be any track records set today. With the reduction in horsepower and the increase in downforce, there’s simply no lifting in qualifying.

“I’ve been able to get some comfort and drivability out of it. But, doing those sort of things will definitely slow you down in single car speed. So, don’t expect us to be very good here today folks,” Kyle Busch tells FOX Sports ahead of his qualifying run.

Kyle Busch is pinching the entry and exit to every corner. He said the team added downforce and now he doesn’t need all of the race track to keep it under him.

After 19 cars, it’s Bubba Wallace that sits at the top of the board. He had an emotional media availability just ahead of this season as he discussed how the season has gone to date. He’s the fastest overall in the first group.

“It’s a nice shot in the arm,” says Bubba Wallace.

5 cars remain, Stewart-Haas Racing currently sits first, second and third. The fourth one of Kevin Harvick is the fourth one, yet to qualify.

Harvick to the top of the board! He topped his teammates by nearly a tenth.

Stewart-Haas sweeps the first row and the second row. Kevin Harick will start from the pole position at Kansas Speedway!
