Tonight, it’s night two of a three day show in Columbus, Mississippi. Magnolia Motor Speedway hosts the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Tonight’s another full program paying $5,000 to the feature winner.

Hot Laps/Qual – Report

More issues for Bobby Pierce. He’s come to a stop in turn three during hot laps. As they push him away it looks like there’s some fluid where he stopped. A bit of smoke came out as well. Probably a rear end issue.

Mike Marlar is quickest overall in qualifying with a 13.793. The track is significantly quicker than last night.

Heat 1 – Report

Kyle Bronson and Jonathan Davenport lead the to the line in heat one. Green, Davenport leads into turn one.

Bronson cuts hard to the bottom on turn three, its a slider. Davenport is on the gas around the top and he holds the position off turn four.

Bronson keeps fighting, he takes the position. Pierce is slow in turn two and the caution is out.

Green, they run three wide into turn one! Davenport comes out with the lead.

Lap 5, the caution is back out.

Green, Davenport leads. Hudson O’Neal heads to the top, he’s 3 wide for 2nd off turn two. Bronson shuts the door and doors O’Neal. Hudson is in the wall and the caution is out.

Green, Davenport opens the gap as they race for 2nd. Davenport takes the win in heat one!

Heat 2 – Report

Austin Arnold and Michael Arnold trail the pace truck ahead of heat two. Green, Austin and Michael Arnold run side by side through turn one.

They make contact in turn four. Austin fades as Michael Arnold leads Tim McCreadie.

McCreadie is hanging with the leader but there’s not much pressure on him. Michael Arnold takes the win in heat two!

Heat 3 – Report

Mike Marlar and Shanon Buckingham lead them to the starting line in heat three. Green, Marlar leads into turn one.

They run three wide for 2nd. Tyler Erb takes that spot.

Heat 4 – Report

Josh Richards and Brian Rickman set the front row for the final heat race of the night. Green, Richards is clear into turn one.

Lap 2, Richards heads to the top in turn three. Rickman to the bottom. He pulls to his left rear but Richards holds the lead.

Richards is exploring lanes on the race track. Rickman is hanging with him. Moyer Jr is working the top, he tags the wall. The top four run nose to tail.

Main Event – Report

Hudson O’Neal finished 5th in the B Main. That’s one position short of a transfer spot. No provisionals are given during the preliminary nights at Magnolia. The defending race winner will miss the Friday portion of the show.

Track promoter Johnny Stokes and his team are doing a little work on the track ahead of the feature. They’ve tilled the bottom groove and watered the top.

Jonathan Davenport and Mike Marlar trail the pace truck ahead of tonight’s main event. 25 laps are up next, paying $5,000 to the winner….

Green flag, Davenport leads into turn one. Marlar heads to the top and Don O’Neal pulls near even with him on the bottom.

Lap 5, Davenport and Marlar are separated by four car lengths. They both run the top.

Lap 9, Tim McCreadie is working the bottom and coming in a hurry. Lap 10, Marlar cuts to the bottom. Davenport holds the spot and moves to the bottom to block.

Marlar moves to the top. That opens the door for McCreadie on the bottom, he takes 2nd.

Lap 17, the leaders are deep in lap traffic. Nearly everyone is glued to the bottom. The bottom laned has darkened significantly since the start of this race.

Final lap, McCreadie heads for the middle in turn one. He’s there but can’t get the drive off the corner. Moran nearly slips into 2nd on the bottom.
