A door banging race for the Lucas Oil Series win in North Carolina
Tonight, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series unloads at the semi-banked half mile dirt track in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It’s a Thursday night program paying $10,000 to the race winner.

Heat 1 – Report
Billy Moyer Jr and Tyler Erb set the front row for the first heat race of the weekend. Green, Erb jumps the start. It’s a complete restart.
Green, Moyer Jr gets the jump and he leads into turn one. Erb and Pearson run side by side for 2nd.
Tyler Erb has a run off turn two. Moyer leaves the inside open into turn three. Erb pulls to his number but he can’t complete the pass.
Erb continues to work the bottom. He completes the pass off turn four.
Caution, spin in turn four.
Green, Erb leads into turn one.
Lap 9, Stormy Scoot has spun in turn one. Caution.
Green, Tyler Erb leads. He takes the win in the first heat race of the night.
Heat 2 – Report
Don O’Neal and Hudson O’Neal trail the pace truck ahead of heat two. Green, Buckingham gets the jump from row two. Three wide into turn one. False start, caution.
Green, Hudson O’Neal leads into turn one. The car jumps sideways, be lifts, the car drops down off the bars and it pushes up the banking. Don O’Neal moves to the lead on the bottom off turn two.
Lap 4, car around in turn two. Caution.
Green, Don O’Neal leads.
2 to go, Hudson O’Neal bicycles into turn one. He nearly rolled but he jumped out of the gas to save it.
Don O’Neal takes the win in heat two!
Heat 3 – Report
Josh Richards and Jimmy Owens lead them to the flag in heat three. Green, Richards leads. Owens gets sideways on the top. Caution, false start.
Green, Richards leads into turn one. Owens is sticking with the top, Davenport moves to 2nd.
Josh Richards takes the win in heat three.
Heat 4 – Report
They’re working in the top of the race track ahead of heat four. Drivers coast through the loose stuff on the top.
Kyle Bronson and Tim McCreadie set row one for the final heat race of the night. Green, Bronson leads on the bottom. McCreadie smacks a rut with his nose as dirt goes flying.
Chris Ferguson started 5th. He’s up to 3rd at the end of lap one.

Main Event – Report
It’s a 50 lap main event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. The race winner will hit the road with a check for $10,000.
Tyler Erb and Josh Richards set the front row. They line up in a four wide salute for the North Carolina dirt race crowd.
Josh Richards’ wife has fallen off a four wheeler in the pit area. The red flag is out before the green. She’s ok, just winded. They had to stop the cars to get her back across the track.
Green flag, Tyler Erb drives it deep on the bottom into turn one. Erb slides to the top and he’s clear off turn two.
Lap 2, Jimmy Owens jumps the cushion and rolls over the banking in turn two. He loses several spots but we’re still green.
Erb has caught the tail of lap traffic. Richards has climbed to the tail of his back bumper.
Erb doors the lap car as the lapper was attempting to move over. Richards heads to the outside as they split the lap car. Tyler Erb pops out with the lead and Bronson takes 2nd.
Caution.
Green, Erb leads. Richards reclaims 2nd.
Lap 11, the caution is out as Moyer Jr is slow in turn two.
Green, Erb leads.
Richards is around in turn one! He caught a rut at the entry to the corner. Several cars pile into him, five car pile up. The caution is back out as Richards drives it to the pit area. Ferguson gets a push to the pits.
Green, Davenport has a run. He looks to the outside of Erb at the flag stand. Davenport noses ahead on the top into turn one. Erb bobbles through the ruts on the bottom, he lifts, pushes up the banking and falls to 4th.
Lap 17, caution in turn four.
Green, Davenport leads Bronson. Erb moves to 3rd. Richards is using the high side to move back through the field.
Lap 22, slow car in turn one. The caution is back out.
Green, Davenport leads Bronson.
Overton throws it in on the bottom in turn one. He makes light contact with Erb as they launch through the ruts. Overton moves to 3rd.
Lap 30, the yellow is back out.
Green, Davenport leads Bronson. Davenport and Bronson hit a rut and bang doors in turn four! Davenport falls to 4th. Bronson leads back into turn one!
Lap 33, Buckingham has pounded the inside pit entrance wall before turn one. The red is out. Buckingham stands on the roof of his car, fists in the air to the crowd. He’s ok.
Only twelve cars remain and it will be a single file restart. Green, Bronson leads. Overton moves to 2nd.
Bronson is launching through the ruts at the entry to turn one. He bicycles multiple times as Overton closes.
Bronson moves to the middle-top in turn one. It’s a smoother line up there and he maintains the gap to Overton.
Caution for a flat tire.
Green, Bronson leads into turn one. Overton has a run off turn two. Overton drives it deep on the bottom in turn three and he’s clear off turn four!
Bronson fights back on the bottom in turn one. Bronson retakes the lead in turn three.
Lap 44, caution.
Green, Bronson opens a three car length lead into turn one.
