Tonight, it’s night 1 at Lernerville Speedway. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series have unloaded for the Firecracker 100.

Lernerville Speedway is a half-mile dirt oval located in Sarver, PA. Last night was suppose to begin the three-day race weekend. However, a rain out yesterday has reduced this to a two-day show.

Heat 1 – Report

Tyler Erb and Boom Briggs trail the pace truck ahead of heat race number one. Green, they run even into turn one. Briggs kicks it to the top, he noses ahead off turn two and confirms the lead into turn three.

Lap 4, Tyler Erb is working the bottom. He can pull even at the center of the corner but Briggs wins the race off the corner. Satterlee is closing in on both of them.

Boom Briggs opens the gap. He takes the win in the first heat race of the night.

Heat 2 – Report

Chris Ferguson and Tim McCreadie lead them to the line in heat three. Green, Ferguson noses ahead at the line. Mason Zeigler has a look to the outside. He sticks his nose between Ferguson and the outside wall but that hole closes quickly.

Ferguson leads off turn two, McCreadie is having a look to his inside. Both cars head to the bottom in turn three as they bang doors and fight for space on the track. Ferguson holds the lead.

Lap 2, Ferguson jumps the cushion in turn two. He’s sideways in front of the field but collects it. The field checks up to avoid contact as Zeigler slips to the lead off the corner.

Mason Zeigler drives off to take the win in heat two!

Heat 3 – Report

Mike Norris and Jonathan Davenport line up on the front row for heat two. Green, Norris gets the jump on the bottom. He crowds Davenport and takes the top lane into turn one. Davenport jumps the cushion and falls to 4th.

Davenport slides Weiss in turn four for 3rd. He wasn’t clear, light contact as he takes the position. Laps later, Weiss slides him back to retakes the position.

Final lap, McDowell cuts to the bottom to move Davenport to 5th and outside a transfer position. Spin at the back and the caution is out.

Green, Norris leads on the top into turn one. Weiss fights on the bottom. Several cars run door to door for 3rd, 4th and 5th. Marlar holds the final transfer spot as McDowell is pushed out off the final corner.

Mike Norris takes the win in heat three.

Heat 4 – Report

Brandon Overton and Darrell Lanigan lead them to the flag stand in heat four. Green, Lanigan is clear on the bottom in turn one.

Lap 4, Sheppard sits outside of a transfer position in 5th. Devin Moran holds the final transfer spot, they run nose to tail around the top.

Lap 6, Sheppard diamonds turns one and two, he gets a run on the bottom off the corner and completes the pass in turn three. The caution is out and that pass will not count.

Green, Lanigan, Overton and Richards run three wide into turn one. Lanigan pops out with the lead. Richards can’t get the drive off the corner and he falls to 5th.

Final lap, Dillard is pushed off the bottom. He loses two spots off turn two.

Darrell Lanigan takes the win in the final heat race of the night.

Main Event – Report

Mason Zeigler and Boom Briggs set the front row following the re-draw of the heat race winners. 30 laps of dirt late model racing is up next…

Green flag, Zeigler gets the jump from the inside line. Briggs bobbles off turn two and again in turn four, he falls to 5th.

Lap 2, Norris slides Zeigler in turn one. Zeigler returns the slider in turn three and retakes the lead.

Lap 6, Norris slides to the bottom in turn three. Norris and Zeigler both roll through the bumps. Norris is clear off turn four.

Lap 10, Norris has caught the tail of the field. Davenport is slow behind them with a flat right rear and the caution is out. Davenport heads to the pit lane for a new tire.

Green, Rick Eckert is sideways toward the back of the field of the nose of Boom Briggs as the accordion effect was the cause. Chub Frank and Blake Spencer come into the scene with nowhere to go. Frank launched airborne over the nose of Eckert before coming down on all four wheels. All drivers are ok.

Green, the field runs through the ruts in turn four. Norris leads as Lanigan moves to 2nd.

Lap 14, Boom Briggs has a flat and the caution is out.

Green, Erb heads right for the apron at the launch. He pulls alongside of Lanigan into turn one. They run three wide for the lead into turn one, Erb is up to 2nd.

Erb is battling for the lead, he’s slow. Flat tire for Tyler Erb! The caution is back out.

Green, Norris is clear at the flag stand. Zeigler tries to clear himself to the wall, Ferguson was there, they make contact but all continue.

Briggs is slow in turn one and the caution is back out. Marlar heads to the pit area.

Green, they run three wide for the lead into turn one. Zeigler takes 2nd as Norris holds the lead.

Lap 18, Zeigler diamonds turn one, he comes off the top and cuts under Norris off turn two. Norris returns the slider in turn three,

Zeigler jumps the cushion in turn one. Norris retakes the lead. Brandon Sheppard has climbed from 12th to 3rd.

5 to go, Mason Zeigler has run the leader back down. Zeigler works the bottom as Norris rides the cushion.

4 to go, Satterlee is upside down in turn four. He jumped the cushion, the outside track berm grabbed the right side frame rail of the chassis and flipped it into a barrel role.

Green, Norris leads. Zeigler throws it the bottom in turn three, he pulls even but Norris opens the gap with the momentum off the top.

Mike Norris takes the win in night one at Lernerville Speedway!
