Big crash

Lap 118, big crash at the front of the field! Dillon and Bowyer moved to the bottom. Bowyer cuts off his bumper and Dillon wiggles as a result. Dillon and Bowyer tangle as they race to the bottom into turn one. Dillon thought he was clear to the bottom but Bowyer already had his nose on his left rear. Half the field is collected.

Some cars head for the pit lane. Kurt Busch stays out. As the field rolls around under caution, the cars that stayed out are hoping it doesn’t go green.

NASCAR shuts off the lights on the pace car. Most of the cars head for the pits who didn’t pit, including Kurt Busch. They were taking a gamble but it’s not going to work.

Justin Haley is set to lead them to the restart but he’s still hoping for rain as he did not pit. NASCAR turns the lights back on! The red flag is out for lightning that struck 7 miles away as they were coming to the green. Teams are being told to cover up the cars up.

An hour later: NASCAR calls the drivers back to their cars. Lightning strikes again and they are forced to wave it off.

They try again but the rains return. The track is soaked and it will be at least a two hour delay to dry the track.

NASCAR has called the race!
